Actor Ezra Miller — best known for playing the Flash in the DCEU and Credence Barebone/Aurelius Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts — was once a popular fixture around these parts mostly for their exceptional jawline and their fantastic red-carpet appearances. Their popularity quickly waned, however, after they assaulted a fan in what still remains a mysterious altercation and, uh, made a movie from the perspective of the police officer who killed Michael Brown.
Outside of playing the Trash Can Man in the little-seen The Stand miniseries on Paramount+, we haven’t seen much of Miller of late, although both The Flash and the next Fantastic Beasts movie are forthcoming. In the meantime, Miller posted this very bizarre Instagram post in which they appear to threaten members of a Ku Klux Klan chapter in North Carolina.
Wearing their Flash ring and calling themself the Mad Goose Wizard, Miller took aim at a KKK chapter in Beulaville, North Carolina. “Look, if y’all want to die, I suggest just killing yourselves with your own guns. OK? Otherwise, keep doing exactly what you’re doing right now — and you know what I am talking about — then, you know, we’ll do it for you, if that’s really what you want. Talk to you soon, OK. Byyyyye.”
In the caption, Miller wrote, “Please disseminate (gross!) this video to all those whom it may concern. This is not a joke and even though I do recognize myself to be a clown please trust me and take this seriously. Let’s save some live now ok babies? Love you like woah.”
That’s some real Joker energy there.
The consensus on social media seems to be a mix of confusion and bewildered but guarded respect, as in, “Why is Miller threatening the KKK, but also, I ain’t mad at it.” There are also lots and lots of jokes about Ezra Miller threatening the KKK not being on anyone’s 2022 bingo card.
