At the 2018 Winter Olympics, two openly gay American competitors were beacons of light, love, and life. Figure skater Adam Rippon was playful and irreverent in interviews and on Twitter. Freeskier Gus Kenworthy won our hearts when he casually kissed his boyfriend on live national television, then continued to win with his Twitter game, where he threw shade at homophobic VP Mike Pence and posted photos that inspired deep thirst. And now, these winsome gay icons are taking on Halloween.
On Twitter, Kenworthy posted a pic of his costume, complete with a cheeky DIY backdrop.

Meanwhile on Instagram, Rippon was sharing photos of fans who were dressing like him for Halloween. And seemed surprised when Kenworthy was included in their beguiling ranks.
Then Rippon exchanged personal texts from his family, regarding this holiday cosplay.
From there, things just got saucier.
We finally did each other ðŸ†

tbh I've been wanting to do you since we met…

Feels right

For those concerned for Kenworthy’s beau, Matt Wilkas, be assured the couple was posting pics as recently as October 11. So the above is probably just some harmless flirting, like that time Kenworthy kissed Rippon at the GLAAD Awards. (“You’re such a mess!”)
In the end, Rippon declared Kenworthy had won Halloween.
Where were you when @guskenworthy won Halloween? https://t.co/j1Qtb7eVlv

But it feels like we all win.
