This week on Graham Norton we had Kevin Hart, Ice Cube, Hugh Laurie, and Olivia Coleman. While Cube and Hart were almost definitely there to promote Ride Along 2 there was a lot of discussion about Straight Outta Compton, including Graham asking Ice Cube if he was planning to boycott the Oscars.

The biggest gift of this episode was the interactions between Ice Cube and Hugh Laurie which have the look of a beautiful friendship blossoming. There was that bit up there where Laurie complimented him on his view of award shows and Straight Outta Compton, and then in this bit about watching his son portray him on film, Laurie uses it as a way to muse on the idea that all children are “playing” their parents in a way:

Kevin Hart and Ice Cube managed to have more chemistry with each other in this three minutes than in all of Ride Along 2 (from what I hear) as Graham attempts to persuade Ice Cube that he could be Irish and Kevin talks about his experiences doing a comedy tour in the UK:
