Gillian Anderson Is Ready to Date; Gender Is Irrelevant
Well my dearest husband, it was a good run, but I believe I’ll have to go now!
In a recent interview with The Telegraph, the lovely Gillian Anderson made it known she’s perfectly ready to meet “the one,” and it’s high time someone asks her out.
“I’m so lucky to have such great work. I’ve got a fantastic life, I have a wonderful relationship with my kids, and there’s nothing lacking, but I’m leaning towards the idea that it’s time for somebody to be brave enough to ask me out.”
Even better, when asked if she was open to another same-sex relationship, Anderson replied,
“”I wouldn’t discount it. I did it before and I’m not closed to that idea. To me a relationship is about loving another human being; their gender is irrelevant.”
So, uh…race you to the U.K.? The actress is quick to point out that she’s asked out men plenty of times — she’s not sitting around waiting. And she’s aware of and open about her strengths and flaws.
“I’ve looked at a lot of the areas that might be a challenge for people living with me. I’m very headstrong in terms of how I want things to go, so I’ve made an effort to become more patient and compassionate.
I don’t have a tendency to share. Even my own assistant doesn’t know what is scheduled for my week or my day. That’s obviously a control thing because I can tell you what day of the month February 20th is next year. Opening up all that to somebody is a challenge, but one I’m definitely up for.”
Okay, I can deal with all that, nothing too horrible going on. She’s smart, gorgeous, knows where to draw the line (married men), and major bonus; Anderson knows how to make a nice cocktail:
There is one teeny-tiny bit of bad news I have to pass on. For those of you who’ve been excited by Anderson’s recent tweets to her X-Files partner, David Duchovny…
I’m sorry to inform you that’s not actually Gillian — she doesn’t write or send out her own tweets.
“I don’t understand technology. I don’t even Tweet. I have someone in the US who does that for me; nothing personal, just work stuff.”
The interviewer notes that the one time Anderson almost tweeted something (“appallingly rude and inflammatory”) was in response to conservatives who went bananas after she first revealed she’d had several relationships with women.
“I was so close - and I mean minutes away - from Tweeting back, but somebody had the presence of mind stopped me.”
Oh, to have been a fly on that wall!
