Fox Entertainers Are Now Speaking Out Against Fox News and their Parent Company

It began the other day, when Seth MacFarlane — who has, I don’t know? 17 shows on the Fox Network? — spoke out against Fox News, which is owned by the same company:

Soon thereafter, MacFarlane donated $2.5 million to NPR.

Judd Apatow spoke out next, and he’s taking no prisoners. Apatow is calling for a total boycott of Fox.

And he’s calling on other Fox talent to speak up.

And it’s working. Steve Levitan — the showrunner on Modern Family — announced that he will not re-up his deal with Fox, which produces the show.

Paul Feig has spoken up, too:

So have Craig Thomas and Carter Bays, the showrunners of How I Met Your Mother.

And Stephen Falk, the showrunner of FX’s You’re the Worst.

Marti Noxon has weighed in:

So has Liz Meriwether, showrunner of New Girl.

And Adam Scott:

And Apatow is not letting up.

And if you’re curious, here are more shows owned by Fox News:

Where you at, The Simpsons cast?

I don’t know what the Fox Network airs over the summer, but the least we can do is boycott the network. Thankfully, much of 20th Century Fox will be extricated from the Murdochs through a sale (to either Disney or Comcast). However, the Murdochs will retain control of the Fox Broadcasting Company, Fox Television Stations, Fox News, the Fox Business Network, and Fox Sports. If you watch any of those networks, now is a good time to stop. I think you can probably survive without a steady dose of Gordan Ramsey this summer.
