Ezra Miller has finally decided — or someone has helped them decide — to seek treatment. “Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment,” they said through a representative. “I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe, and productive stage in my life.”

Presumably, this is the first apology of many, and the rest of the apologies should only come after months and months of treatment. They have been living essentially a true-crime story over the past year. Miller has a long list of controversies, including felony burglary, grooming, multiple assaults, disorderly conduct, harassment, and other bizarre, erratic behavior.

The Flash, meanwhile, is still scheduled to open in June of 2023, and I’m not sure that Miller is going to truly get the help they need until those in power stop making decisions based on the release date of a superhero film.
