Don’t Ask Julia Roberts About Arya Stark, Gendry, or Even the Night King, OK?!

When you run into Julia Roberts this week, you can knock Game of Thrones off your conversational to-do list, friend. Why? Well, she doesn’t watch it.

Well, that’s good news, honestly. I hate when I run into Julia Roberts at the local Target and I bring up some things to chit chat about and she stares at me blankly. You do not want the Robert’s blank stare, friend. It’s almost as bad as the Meryl Streep snarl.

Anyway, you can thank an unlikely source for helping you avoid this snafu: Patricia Arquette.

Yes, she of The Act and more importantly, Medium fame got us the answers to things we most need to know in life, recently, when she kicked off a panel with Julia Roberts in it. Before they got to the heavy-hitting stuff, she asked a few mild questions to get everyone warmed up, and that’s when Robert’s avoidance of Game of Thrones came into the picture:

Per People.com:

“One of the questions that people have for you was who’s going to sit on the throne at the end of Game of Thrones?” Arquette asked. “Do you watch Game of Thrones?”

“I’m going to say Barack Obama for $500,” the Oscar winner replied jokingly.

“I’ve never watched Game of Thrones,” Roberts admitted. “But someone just told me a couple days ago, ‘You look like one of the wildings.’”

If you think that Roberts would be open to the show, if she only gave it a chance, you’re wrong friend. So keep that opinion to yourself when you see her at Starbucks this Wednesday, OK?!

As for why she hasn’t tuned in to the HBO phenomenon (which concludes this Sunday after eight seasons), the Pretty Woman star said she prefers something a bit more PG.

“Too scary. Maybe too much sex,” she said.

Arquette, who’s having a big year with Hulu’s The Act and Toy Story 4, seemed to agree, saying, “There’s a lot of sex. And there’s zombies and stuff.”

“Then it’s for sure not for me,” Roberts jokingly replied.

So, I guess you’re wondering what you can talk to Julia Roberts about this week. I mean, presumably you’re a grown adult and you can come up with things yourself, but if you’re really at a loss for word with her, why not bring up swimming pools?

It worked in Airheads, and it should work on Julia Roberts, because there’s a 1:1 correlation between her and that movie. Obviously.
