Donald Trump's Racist Tweets Are Making Meghan McCain's Life Difficult, Oh Word?

On Sunday, Donald Trump fired off a series of racist tweets, where he blatantly told four duly elected congresswomen to go back to their own countries. Which is America, by the way, because they’re American citizens. But they have brown skin, so is it really? asked our president’s Twitter addiction. Apparently, we’re to believe this is the very first time Trump has displayed any signs of racism because it’s not like we’re talking about a guy who started migrant concentration camps, banned Muslims, and literally launched his presidential campaign with “Hi, how you doing? Every single Mexican is a rapist.”

But if there’s one person who’s feeling the brunt of Trump’s racism the most, it’s clearly millionaire beer heiress and TV personality Meghan McCain, who complained that the president’s tweet made her job of shrieking The Federalist headlines into Joy Behar’s ear that much harder. Never before has one seen such adversity.

Via Raw Story:

McCain said she was personally embarrassed by the president’s attacks.

“For me, as the conservative representative on this show, I was so upset coming back yesterday,” she said. “I was in D.C. with my husband, and I came back, like, this is what people think all conservatives are now, and we are not.”

In Meghan’s defense, she did do the absolute bare minimum of immediately calling out Trump’s tweets as racism while the majority of Republicans are either remaining silent if not outright defending him. But whatever goodwill Meghan might’ve accumulated was instantly squandered. (Emphasis mine.)

“It can’t just be me and Geraldo,” she said. “Somebody else has to come out against this. I’m serious, it is very petrifying that there is not one sitting member of Congress and come out against this on my side. It’s humiliating for me to be on TV right now.”

Yes, the real crime here is that Meghan looks stupid on The View, which almost never happens, and definitely hasn’t been a prominent source of contention that’s put her future on the show in question. Clearly, the takeaway an intelligent person should have after watching the President of the United States basically yell “Go back to Africa” is how will this make Meghan McCain look on daytime television? Sure, children are drinking out of toilets, but someone might realize John McCain’s daughter is full of sh*t, and then what happens? She gets less time to talk than Sunny? That’s an actual holocaust.

Anyway, Meghan also had words for MY FATHER’s BFF Lindsey Graham, who wasted no time going on Fox & Friends and eagerly defended Donald Trump like he’s still keeping John McCain’s corpse warm in the Lincoln bedroom. (Was that too far? Three years of this sh*t has numbed my ass dry. What are feelings like?)

The Daily Beast reports:

After the hosts of The View blasted the president’s comments in general, McCain — the lone conservative on the panel — noted that her sister was born in Bangladesh while pointing out that Trump’s remarks are “deeply xenophobic and racist on a lot of different levels.” She then took issue with Graham, who had personally seen the racism her sister had been subjected to over the years.

“I remember seeing you there when it happened,” she said, addressing Graham through the screen. “Seeing you on Fox & Friends was particularly, particularly hurtful.”

Because, apparently, I’m defending Meghan twice today — I swear to God I’m not drinking. Yet. — she is somewhat approaching a valid point. During the 2000 Republican primaries, there was a dirty-ass racist campaign tactic that was used to knock out John McCain in the South by insinuating that his adopted daughter was the result of an interracial affair. Presumably, Lindsey Graham had front row seats for all of that plus whatever other racist horsesh*t undoubtedly popped up over the years because this is America.

However, Meghan’s mother — who surprisingly exists even though Meghan would have us believe she was fired fully-formed from John McCain’s urethra like a gilded kidney stone — had an even closer brush with the racism hurled at her adopted daughter, and yet that didn’t stop her from accusing an interracial family of human trafficking. It’s almost as if racism is the underlying theme of the modern Republican Party, and Donald Trump is simply the natural byproduct of that racism.

But that can’t be right? That would require super-woke Republicans like Meghan McCain to casually ignore racism when it’s inconvenient to her worldview by doing things like, oh I dunno, downplaying the conditions of child concentration camps, demonizing asylum-seeking refugees, or straight-up rolling her eyes at the idea of a black Little Mermaid. But Meghan would never do any of that.

She’s the sister of John McCain’s black daughter who she’s barely mentioned until now.
