Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans Charm the World, and Accidentally Spoil An Upcoming Marvel Cameo

As part of the press tour for Captain America: Civil War, Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live and as two gorgeous best buddies tend to do, they charmed the hell out of everyone. Smarmy as he can sometimes be, RDJ was positively delightful this time around, even poking fun at himself after answering Kimmel’s query about whether he’d moved all his furniture to Atlanta during the long stint filming the two-parter, back to back. (Indeed he did, and it had something to do with the cats.) The easy camaraderie between the pair is AH-dorable enough on its own, but about three minutes in, Downey seemed to accidentally drop a little bit of intel.

If you missed it, Downey nonchalantly mentions he and Cap will be filming in Atlanta again:

RDJ: “And by the way, we are gonna shoot in Atlanta again, you and I.”

Evans: “I know, I’m ready, I’m ready.”

As Comicbook.com notes, there are only two upcoming films slated for Atlanta production; Guardians of the Galaxy 2 which begins shooting next February or March, and Spider-Man, which is also slated for a 2017 release and expected to begin filming early next year.

From Downey’s apparent slip, it seems likely the pair are making an appearance in one of those two films. James Gunn has said that one or more Avengers may appear in Guardians 2, but during an October video interview, he also stated that he didn’t want Iron Man to appear as a member of the Guardians. Hmm… Meanwhile, Tom Holland is making his debut as Spider-Man in Civil War, so might the boys be returning the cameo favor? That seems the more likely scenario; bring in a couple of heavyweight fan favorites to draw folks to the new kid’s film.

Whichever movie is the lucky recipient of the Cap and Iron Man bromance pairing, the important thing is it means more fun with real-life buddies, Evans and Downey on late night press rounds. In this next clip, Evans expands on his friendship with Downey.
