Walking the red carpet is a fantasy for most women. Imagine yourself decked out in designer duds, specially fitted for your curves, and positively dripping in jewels, while your hair and make-up is so on point it’ll earn its own Youtube tutorial by morning. Swoon!
Of course, we know the reality is far less glamorous, involving armies of makeover folk, constrictive undergarments, and dizzying diets. Beyond all that, even if you’re the goddamn star of a movie, you might have a hard time getting a dress if you’re not within the extremely limiting sample sizes. That was an issue Ghostbusters’ Leslie Jones went public about back in July, which spurred Project Runway winner and adored designer Christian Siriano to take up her cause and deliver a custom and killer gown for the film’s premiere.
While too many designers sneer at the idea of making clothes for women who don’t fit the runway standard, Siriano has been boldly showing how fashion can (and should) be for everyone. He did it with aplomb last night at the Emmys, busting out eight incredible designs on the red carpet, along with some of the most talked about looks of the whole affair.
First up, he re-teamed with Jones, delivering a brilliant blue jumpsuit that was full glamazon:

Veep/My Girl star Anna Chlumsky walked the carpet just two months after giving birth, and Siriano gave her a gown that clearly made her feel confident and comfortable while allowing her a classy bit of leggy allure.
