As usual, let me be transparent because I’m trying real hard not to have my sh*t-eating grin ooze out of every single word here. The important thing is a significant salvo in defeating Donald Trump has just been fired, and we should all call this one a win.
The article I intended to write this morning was about how some of the commenters made a salient point about why Taylor Swift might hold back an endorsement for Kamala Harris. Swift’s shows in Vienna were canceled due to a very real terrorist threat, and that would rightly give her pause about putting her fans at risk. Endorsing Kamala could do exactly that because, as we well know, Trump has no shortage of unhinged supporters. Christ, they literally tried to hang Mike Pence for refusing to overturn the election. Swift had some serious calculus to consider that could easily get people hurt if not killed.
She endorsed Kamala anyway.
In a blast of Pennsylvania energy, Swift capped off a beautiful debate night that left Trump stammering about immigrants eating pets after getting shockingly fact-checked by the ABC moderators several times. (Linsey Davis is a GOAT.) The guy got absolutely wrecked as Kamala delivered a stirring and impassioned defense of women’s rights. I’ve mentioned this before, but my wife and I went through a miscarriage before having our first child, and we made the mistake of seeking treatment at a nearby Catholic hospital. When a couple of scared kids in our 20s who just wanted to start a family asked what to do next, the doctor shook her head and said, “I dunno” before bolting out of the room like she’d seen a ghost. She was perfectly content sending my wife home to bleed out. No thanks to God, a nurse whispered to us to find an actual doctor who will do a D&C and bless that woman’s heart. That’s what Trump and company want for the whole country. F*ck all that.
Fortunately, Taylor Swift agrees. Via Instagram:
Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight. If you haven’t already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most. As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies and plans for this country.Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site. It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.
I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.
I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice. Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make. I also want to say, especially to first time voters: Remember that in order to vote, you have to be registered! I also find it’s much easier to vote early. I’ll link where to register and find early voting dates and info in my story.
With love and hope,
Taylor Swift

Now, I know what you’re thinking: She’s still friends with a MAGA supporter! Well, folks, Taylor may have hugged Brittany Mahomes, but she just activated an avalanche of Swifties to steamroll Mahomes’ candidate of choice. Not only that, but Swift’s team clearly coordinated with Kamala’s campaign for maximum impact. These friendship bracelets weren’t whipped up and ready to sell in 27 minutes. This was a precision rollout planned well in advance. You tell me what matters more.
