The worst Chris caught some sh*t again last week when he posted a creepy Instagram for his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger’s birthday about how much she loves him while saying only that he loves her more than a baseball card and that his contribution to their marriage is apparently occasionally opening a pickle jar. He also commended his wife for giving him a “gorgeous, healthy” child, which the Internet took as a slap in the face to his son Jack with ex-wife, Anna Faris. Jack was born prematurely with severe brain bleeding, which has presented some health challenges. (For the record, I don’t think it was a purposeful slight, but it was definitely a shitty, insensitive, unthinking thing to say.)

The morning after the post, Pratt suggested that the Internet backlash had made him “depressed,” but he found his way out of it by listening to Christian music, which is a very nu-Pratt thing to say.

Busy Phillips — who hosts the podcast Busy Philipps Is Doing Her Best — didn’t think much of the post, either calling it “f**king weird.” She also thought it was patronizing to his wife.

“You’re probably not the type of lady that will laugh enthusiastically if you’re with a man and he starts to make very tired gender jokes about responsibilities and duties and even like, the f***ing tired bit that he’s doing which is, ‘She runs the show I occasionally open a bag of pickles. That’s how f***ing dumb what he said is. You are a Marvel superhero. You made $480 million last year. You work non-stop. You don’t just open a f***ing jar of pickles. What she does in their household is probably a lot. She probably does a lot of the domestic labor. They have a kid and whatever. That is actually legitimately a lot of f***ing work. But by the way he’s talking about himself, putting himself in it, in the center of it, it makes it seem like it’s bulls***.”

Referencing the line about the Ken Griffey card, Phillips also suggested that Pratt “has possessions, and she’s one of them.”

Phillips — who used to vacation with Pratt when he was married to Anna Faris — doesn’t appear to think much of nu-Chris. The guy she used to know, she said, was “super nice and funny” even if he was a “doomsday prepper” who “drank a lot.” As for this nu-Chris? “I knew him in the before times, I don’t know him now,” she explained.

I’m just glad to hear that Pratt actually changed some since his Parks and Rec years, and it’s not only our perception of him that has changed.
