Following a Florida mother’s successful petition, which received over 9,000 signatures, Toys ‘R’ Us decided to pull Breaking Bad’s Walter White action figure from its shelves.

In her petition Susan Schrivjer wrote:

“While the show may be compelling viewing for adults, its violent content and celebration of the drug trade make this collection unsuitable to be sold alongside Barbie dolls and Disney characters.

Parents and grandparents around the world shop at Toys R Us, online and in stories, with their children and should not be forced to explain why a certain toy comes with a bag of highly dangerous and illegal drugs or why someone who sells those drugs deserves to be made into an action figure.”

She makes a valid point, but…well, have you been in Toys ‘R’ Us? There are guns and video games and punk rock zombies, oh my! (Personally, if I do shop at the store with my kids, there are certain aisles we skip.) Nonetheless, after first releasing a statement that the BB packaging “…clearly notes that the items are intended for ages 15 and up;” [they’re only sold] “in the adult action figure area of our stores,” the retailer decided to (gently) evict Walter White:

“Let’s just say, the action figures have taken an indefinite sabbatical.”

To which Bryan Cranston responded with his usual flair and humor:
