There is nothing I enjoy more from People.com than when they spin up an article about nothing and present it as something. So, if you’re one of the people who not only are clamoring for B.Coop and Gaga to get together but perform again, too, you’ll have to wait a bit longer because the rumors of them taking the stage at Glastonbury this week are probably unfounded.

Per People:

Recent rumors that the two would reunite at the British music festival to perform songs from their Oscar-winning film were shut down by festival organizer Emily Eavis shortly after they emerged.

“Before this one gets out of control… the answer is no, that isn’t happening,” Eavis wrote on Twitter Monday.

She added that fans could, however, catch a screening of the film at the Pilton Palais Cinema tent on Friday, along with other hits like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Rocketman and The Goonies.

Here’s the tweet, just in case you think I’ve been playing the long-game at Pajiba, and this has all been a lead up to making up fake quotes from People.com about Bradley Cooper (although I’m not saying I’m not leading up to that, that’s just not what’s happening today.)

So, this speculation was all kicked off because a radio DJ in the UK, Edith Bowman said Cooper alluded to an appearance at the festival when she appeared on TV, yesterday:

“I had Bradley Cooper [on] talking about A Star Is Born. And when I spoke to him, I was like, ‘I just wanna see you guys do a gig, play it live.’ And he was like, ‘Jackson’s dead!’ ” she recalled. “He said, ‘Well, we have been talking to Nick [Dewey, Glastonbury booker] and Emily about it - we’d do The Park Stage.”

Come on, who among us hasn’t potentially stretched the truth to get on TV? My entire life has been one long protracted attempt to get on Ghost Hunters, and yet still they don’t call. How many more “legitimate” ghost encounters do I need to have before they finally get in touch?!

Now, I’m not calling Bowman a liar, I think either schedules didn’t work out, or more likely, Cooper is hell-bent on riding this Lady Gaga ship-storm as long as he can and planted this gossip to get more attention. I mean it’s not like Ghost Hunters is returning his call, either.

[Note: It has come to my attention that ‘Ghost Hunters’ has not been on the air for 3+ years. Apologies to the ‘Ghost Hunters’ crew for doubting your commitment towards people with ghost encounters. All good things must come to an end, apparently.]

So if you ship those two, I’m sorry they probably won’t be at Glastonbury this week, however, you have at least four more People.com articles on this will-they-won’t-they thing until people (or, People, see what I did there?) stop caring, or they finally get together.

As for me? I’m going to take to Twitter to spread Glastonbury rumors, primarily that Kid n Play are reuniting on stage, but not to perform their songs. Instead, they’ll be hashing out past grievances for an hour and a half while House Party plays in the background, with no sound.
