Back in 2020, Bill Hader and Rachel Bilson had been dating for several months before the rest of the public found out — we didn’t know, in fact, until Bilson was spotted having coffee with Hader in his hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma. We knew it must have been love because Bilson agreed to have coffee in a state where there is no good coffee.

It wasn’t too long after we learned they were dating that we learned they had broken up because Hader’s relationships are like exploding stars — by the time we actually see them falling from the sky, the relationship has already been over for months. It was but a blip in the news cycle for us, but for Rachel Bilson, “it hurt like a motherf**ker.”

Around the time that Bilson shared her feelings about her break-up with Hader — “it was like childbirth” — we were reminded that Hader had been dating Anna Kendrick for over a year, a low-profile relationship that barely registered with the public. Alas, the two had already broken up by the time we’d been reminded they were dating. Hader and Kendrick, who met on the Disney+ movie Noelle, never even made it red-carpet official.

Entertainment Tonight confirms the split through their reps with this very succinct statement: “Bill Hader and Anna Kendrick have broken up.” We don’t know how long they’ve been broken up. For all we know, Hader has been dating someone else for months now, and the public will not be privy to it until they’re on the verge of a break-up, too.

Unrelated, but I only just also learned from Marc Maron’s podcast that Hader’s Skeleton Twins and SNL co-star Kristen Wiig not only got married to Avi Rothman but she and her husband became parents to twins during the pandemic.
