Some of you may know Ayelet Waldman as the author of The Mommy-Track Mysteries. Some of you may know her from the non-fiction work of her husband, Michael Chabon. Some of you may remember her as the woman who probably alienated most of her friends by proclaiming in the NYTimes that she has a fantastic sex life while the rest of the mothers in her social groups have lousy sex lives and basically conceded that she loved her husband more than her children (kind of).

She’s a treat. She’s also spectacularly, profoundly terrible at social media, as attested by the hissyfit she threw after her well-reviewed book, Love and Treasure, failed to make the NYTimes 100 notable books of 2014.

That’s just straight-up embarrassing. I am both appalled by her childish behavior, and a little mortified on her behalf.

If you also feel bad for her, you can, uh, make her feel better by buying her book, and she will make donations to charity.

I don’t think she’s doing herself any favors in responding to the criticism her tweets received, however.

Uh, well now who is being sanctimonious?
