John McCain's Daughter Bombed on 'Late Night' so Her Husband Called Seth Meyers a 'Cuck'

Meghan McCain’s sole accomplishment in life is being the combined byproduct of John McCain’s sperm and Cindy McCain’s egg. She’s the Paris Hilton of politics. When you compare her to other children of political dynasties, Chelsea Clinton is a highly-educated philanthropist who generally knows what the hell she’s talking about, and Christ, even Ivanka Trump is facilitating a terrifyingly successful coup of the United States government. Where’s your coup, Meghan?

Anyway, my point echoes exactly the one Dustin made just last week: Meghan McCain has zero qualifications to talk about anything besides being John McCain’s daughter. And yet she’s invited onto shows like This Week with George Stephanopoulos to discuss heavily nuanced and intricate topics like Ilhan Omar’s criticism of Israel. That’s not only insulting on an intellectual level, it’s dangerous as f*ck, because the heiress to the McCain beer fortune thought it’d be totes smart to tie Ilhan Omar to the recent synagogue shootings as opposed to, oh I dunno, the right’s blatant love affair with white supremacy and anti-Semitism as evidenced by the presence of a racist, tweeting kumquat sitting in the Oval Office.

But clearly, Meghan’s rhetoric regarding Congresswoman Omar didn’t sit well with Seth Meyers, so last night, he did what anyone who slaps Meghan in front of a camera should do: Made her eat her own words.

She did not like it. She did not like it at all.

After seven minutes of light talk show banter about Meghan’s time as a Saturday Night Live intern and her feelings on Lindsey Graham glomming onto Trump while John McCain’s body was still warm, Meyers finished the last coat of butter and went right into Meghan laying the Poway shooting at Omar’s feet. (Quick note: If you watch the video, I totally get the urge to jump ahead to the good stuff. But I find the first few minutes fascinating because you get to see Meghan lean into her facade, and then watch as it instantly crumbles into “I don’t care what your return policy is.”)

Via The Daily Beast:

“You once again, on a Sunday news show, brought up her tweets again in the context of that shooting,” said Meyers. “I do think it’s fairly dangerous, and you brought it up after Congresswoman Omar had also had some death threats against her. She’s obviously now stated she needs to be more careful with her language. Don’t you think people who talk about her need to be a little bit more thoughtful as well? Or do you stand by those comments of tying her rhetoric to the synagogue shooting?”

“I don’t think I tied her to it in particular,” McCain replied (she did). “I think that I’m calling out what I see as anti-Semitic language.”

After Meyers pointed out that Meghan continued to berate Omar weeks after she apologized and promised to work on her messaging, the fruit of John McCain’s loins made the most revealing comment of the night.

“I stand by every single thing I’ve said, and if that makes me unpopular in this room or in front of you, so be it.”

“Well, I don’t… See, that’s a weird thing, that you can take the position of trying to be ‘unpopular.’ Here I am trying to find the common ground on this,” explained Meyers, trying to be diplomatic.

Welcome to the trash-hole state of American politics: The Republican Party has no interest in finding common ground. We are long past the point of bipartisanship and straight into the hell-mouth of being forced to pull an entrenched political ideology because it has no discernible goal but “owning the libs” by making sure America stays a bigotry and guns sandwich on white bread (extra mayo). It’s a pile of goddammit that even Meghan knows is a bad look, which is why her husband Ben Domenech immediately went to work calling Seth Meyers a cuck in a now-deleted series of homophobic tweets that paired beautifully with his wife’s diversity award from the Harvey Milk Foundation.

Of course, we’re supposed to take that apology at its word, but not Ihlan Omar’s. Which is especially rich considering just last month, Domenech fired DC McAllister from The Federalist over homophobic tweets despite the fact that his site routinely publishes anti-LBGTQ articles that endorse bullying trans kids in middle school. (Yup.) It’s almost like Meghan McCain’s whole world is bullsh*t, but that can’t be right.

She’s John McCain’s daughter.
