Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez Divorce Rumors Are All Over the Place

That was quick. Sort of. Maybe. Or maybe not.

Yesterday, In Touch Weekly reported that Ben Affleck had moved out and he and Jennifer Lopez were headed toward a divorce less than two years into their marriage. This report cites as evidence the fact that Affleck did not attend the Met Gala ball with Lopez, but it also noted that he was busy shooting The Accountant 2 (which I’m excited about, by the way).

This report basically blames Lopez because she wants to be in the spotlight, while Affleck prefers to keep their relationship more private. The article cites as evidence a quote that Lopez gave in her (little-seen) movie, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, which was shot last year.

The wild thing is that the same publication, In Touch Weekly, reported several hours later that Lopez and Affleck are in therapy together, and apparently, therapy is messing with Affleck’s mind. This “insider source” says that the couple is “planning for their future” and that, while the marriage feels like it’s being “held together by scotch tape,” the source says they like it that way.

It’s unclear who the insider sources are, although ChatGPT may be the culprit. Neither Lopez, Affleck nor their representatives have responded to the rumors. It’s also worth noting that the same publication claimed the two were trying to save their marriage five months ago, while last month the magazine claimed that Affleck was troubled by Lopez’s spending habits.

I don’t want to assume anything because it’s true that Affleck and Lopez have not been seen together publicly in weeks — although they are working on separate projects, she’s in New Jersey shooting Kiss of the Spider Woman and he’s in California shooting The Accountant 2 — but it’s possible that In Touch Weekly just makes up shit.
