Not content to have given us the genius of Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda has been rolling out new tracks with guest stars. These Hamildrops are sometimes new songs, sometimes new versions, but always jaw-dropping with rousing performances and big name talent. But just ahead of Christmas, Miranda has outdone himself with the latest Hamildrop. He got Barack Obama!

For “One Last Time (44 Remix),” Miranda brought together former President Barack Obama, gospel singer Bebe Winans, and Hamilton alum Christopher Jackson, who originated the role of George Washington. Here they are, performing Washington’s beautiful and bittersweet farewell song.

Obama has been a supporter of Hamilton since its start. In 2009, Miranda first performed a track to the then-in-the-works musical at the White House’s very first Evening of Poetry, Music, and the Spoken Word.

Then in 2016, Obama invited the cast of the now wildly successful Broadway musical back to the White House to perform.

And now, he’s added his voice to the growing Hamilfam! It’s so beautiful I’m maybe crying. So, to cheer me up, maybe Obama can do a follow-up track? Perhaps a cheeky version of “You’ll be back.” Because we want you to come back, Barack!
