Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas, the new power couple (question mark) of Hollywood, have kept themselves busy this lockdown season. In-between the regular totally casual romantic walks for the paparazzi, they’ve shown off matching jewelery, modeled some great protective face-wear (often worn in questionable ways), and made sure their dogs are getting in their 10k steps a day. It’s not easy being a celebrity during the coronavirus. It sure is nice of them to make sure this period of their lives is extensively photographed for all to see.

Now, they’re taking their love to the next level by appearing in a music video together.

Benana appeared alongside an array of celebrity couples for Residente’s music video for the single ‘Antes Que el Mundo Se Acabe.’ The message within was for the world to start getting back to normal through the power of tonsil tennis across the world. Mush those mouths together, friends! There is a whole lot of weird lip-locking going on here, with appearances from Bad Bunny, Ricky Martin and Jwan Yosef, Zoe Saldana, and others. Ben and Ana seem relatively tame compared to their snogger contemporaries, but hoo boy, it was still a choice that they made.

Oh, this is awkward. Ben is straight-up letting Ana do all the work while he keeps the selfie stick in place. Dude, put in some effort. You already starred in the king of all celeb couple music videos with J.Lo, so you set your own standards high. He even takes time to pose for the camera?! Always on the clock, eh, Ben?

If you already think the always-public play-out of this romance is cringy then this certainly won’t do anything to change your mind. They seem to be fully leaning into the performative nature of their relationship, which is certainly an interesting decision, if nothing else. It’ll be fascinating to see how they roll it all back to ‘I keep my private life private’ when they need to promote their upcoming movie together. Just wait until Jennifer Garner gets back in the PR game.

Also, kissing is f**king weird, right? I’m not sure it’s ever looked less appealing than it does in that music video. It’s like watching an endless montage of plungers.
