Hozier — the musician behind all those angsty songs you love in hospital dramas and CW superhero shows — pulled a total boomer move this week and, when attempting to click “Add to Close Friends” in Instagram Stories accidentally click the “Add to Story” button, sending out a video he absolutely did not want the world to see. Here he is, briefly, using the Handsome Squidward filter.

Hozier, who is way too cool and handsome to be using a filter from Spongebob Squareapants, was mortified, and after fumbling to delete the story, needless apologized for how uncool he is, not realizing perhaps that he just doubled his fanbase with a goofy, unguarded moment.

“I am so mortified … I pressed the wrong button, and then my phone shat the bed, and I couldn’t delete it fast enough … You live by the Squidward filter, you die by the Squidward filter,” Hozier said in his adorable but unnecessary apology. “You’re all drinking in the chaos on Twitter, and thanks for understanding.”
Amen. Aaaaaa-men.
