'Westworld' Season Two Returns Like A Bull In A Robot Lab...

Apparently during last night’s big damn sports thingy, HBO dropped a trailer for the upcoming second season of their mysterious Robot Wonderland epic, Westworld. And, well, it’s basically the most Westworld-ish thing imaginable. Take a look:

“Look at this world. This beautiful world. We built this world together…” Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) intones in a voiceover, set against the familiar stunning vistas. Horses! Ranches! A child taking a woman’s hand! Sweeping shots of fields! Slo-mo bulls running! All with the ever present piano accompaniment plinking away (this time it’s a rendition of Kanye West’s “Runaway”).

“But this world is a lie. This world deserves to die…” And then we see that the bulls are actually running amok behind the scenes of the amusement park, chasing down armed guards. All hell is breaking loose, in the same glorious slo-mo. There’s torture, gun fights, sad Ed Harris in the rain, and Thandie Newton striding through the middle of the chaos like the Angel of Death. The robot uprising has arrived, and to save their world they are apparently prepared to destroy it and start over.

Westworld returns to fill the hole left by Game of Thrones in HBO’s schedule in our hearts April 22nd.
