Todd Philip's 'Joker' Origin Story May Put Its Stink On A Storyline From 'The Killing Joke'
It sounds like they’re really going to do this. They are really going to make a Joker origin movie.
I know we’ve talked about it. I know I’ve personally shit all over the very idea. DC, producer Martin Scorcese, and Warner Bros. just keep on cramming the movie equivalent of White Castle sliders into our unwilling gullets, hoping the public will just accept the upset stomach and diarrhea with a smile on their face and their dirty asses in theaters.
I hate them.
Today’s news is about the supposed inspiration of the Joker’s past, pulled from Alan Moore’s polarizing 1988 graphic novel The Killing Joke. Of course, their inspiration isn’t that no one really knows the Joker’s true history - not even the Clown Prince of Crime himself. They’re going to make your old pal Joker a failed comedian in the 1980s.
It’s Joker: Punchline Origins. It’s The Less Than Amazing Mr. Joker. It’s a big pile of excuses for the Joker to have a bad mustache and ruin my life, is what it is.
I don’t want to see Joker without the white face paint. I don’t want to see sad sack Joker tricked into pulling a job with some criminals who leave him to take the fall. I don’t want to see it with Joaquin Phoenix wearing a pedostache and fluffy hair.
I don’t want to see Michael Myers as a white trash kid, another Spider-Man origin, OR Joker’s history made canon.
