Danny McBride Is: 'Dundee: The Son of A Legend Returns Home'?

Twitter account Dundee Movie has been on the social media site since November 2017. It is verified. However, it hadn’t posted anything until last Friday:

Um, what? A Crocodile Dundee sequel no one asked for, 17 years after the last sequel? Starring Danny McBride as the son of Mick Dundee? A son Mick didn’t know he had? Crocodile Dundee has gone missing in the Outback and his American son looks for him?

IS THIS REAL LIFE?? There is a website for the flick with just “COMING SOON, MATE” as the release date. The IMDB page only lists McBride and Paul Hogan as being in the film. The director is Steve Rogers, which I thought was Captain America but is an actual director with one other credit to his name. The only crew listed is cinematographer Russell Boyd (Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World) and Lee Mariano as second assistant camera (The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader).

There are no writers listed, Hogan is the producer, and the page was last updated Friday. You’ll remember that is also when the Twitter account started posting. IMDB also shows the release date as June 1, 2018 in Los Angeles.

Am I seeing conspiracy where there isn’t one? Is it possible that McBride and Hogan pulled a Cloverfield to make a Crocodile Dundee sequel? Or is it more likely that Outback Steakhouse dropped some serious cash on a Super Bowl commercial and this is their run up to the big game?
