A Pastor Forcefully Denounced Trump's 'Sh*thole' Comments with Visibly Distressed Mike Pence in Attendance

Yesterday morning, Pastor Dr. Maurice Watson of the Metropolitan Baptist Church in Prince George County Maryland (and an Arkansas native!) delivered a forceful sermon for Martin Luther King Day in which he denounced President Trump for referring to Haiti and other African countries as “shitholes.”

“I stand today as your Pastor to vehemently denounce and reject any such characterizations of The nations of Africa and of our brothers and sisters in Haiti,” he said, calling said characterization “hurtful” and “dehumanizing.”

It’s a powerful speech, and it deserves to be listened to by everyone, but one man in particular who was in the audience really needed to hear it: Vice President Mike Pence, who attended the service along with his wife. According to WUSA, Pence was visibly “red faced” and uncomfortable during the five-minute portion of the sermon that took issue with Trump’s comments, as well he should have been.

Unfortunately, Pence’s discomfort is not seen in the video below. Nevertheless, it’s a great sermon and you should listen to it, and you should also commend the rest of the audience for standing and cheering their Pastor even knowing that the VP was sitting among them.
