Here’s 8 minutes of pure magic to get you through this Friday — and you don’t need a damn Tidal subscription to enjoy it! The Ava DuVernay-directed video for Jay Z’s “Family Feud”(off his latest album 4:44) has hit YouTube, and before you start thinking this is just another music video, lemme stop you right there. This is a mini-movie. This is a generational saga. This shit is an epic A-list endeavor, featuring familiar faces such as Michael B. Jordan, Thandie Newton, Jessica Chastain, David Oyelowo, America Ferrera, Mindy Kaling, Rashida Jones, Rosario Dawson, Brie Larson, Constance Wu, Niecy Nash, and Susan Kelechi Watson amongst many, many, MANY more.

Oh, and Beyoncé of course.

“Family Feud” shows a grown-up Blue Ivy Carter leading a group of Founding Mothers in a re-hauling of the Constitution. And though it takes about 5 minutes for Jay-Z to arrive, when he does he’s literally confessing his sins to his wife.

It’s not just a music video — it’s high-concept family therapy!
