As conservatives go, John McCain is one of the great ones, at least when he’s not running to the right while campaigning to become President of the United States. McCain’s son, Jack McCain is also fantastic (recently he told ignorant racists to “eat it”) and Jack McCain’s wife is even cooler.
I have no problems with Meghan McCain, either. She’s conservative, but of the old-school variety, someone with whom many of us could disagree politically without it devolving into a shit-show. She’s a thoughtful conservative columnist, and one of the few remaining Republicans advocating for moderation.
She’s also no fan of Donald Trump (nor is her father, who refuses to endorse Trump), but Meghan McCain has also been put in a very delicate position, thanks to her father’s decisions while running for President.
To wit, this very reasonable tweet, a not-so-veiled swipe at Donald Trump:
I hope history remembers those who gave up their conservative principles for the cult of personality and celebrity. And those who didn't.

Had a head-to-head collision with this tweet, from prolific tweeter Patrick Monahan:

Ouch.
Monahan did not survive long as a Meghan McCain follower, after his very Craug-like response.

Still, I like her spirit, even if our politics do not align.
Keep it gangster Paul Ryan.
