Vin Diesel Sings a Rihanna Song to His Real-Life Girlfriend Because Vin Diesel is Metal

By Dustin Rowles | Videos | September 7, 2013 | Comments ()

Last Valentine’s Day, in lieu of a Valentine’s Day gift, Vin Diesel — with this help of his daughter — recorded himself singing a Rihanna song for his girlfriend, Paloma Jimenez. It … well, it actually sounds like you’d expect it to sound if Vin Diesel were sincerely and earnestly singing a Rihanna song, which is to say, it’s not bad. It’s not great, either. It’s the thought that counts, though, right?

Besides finding out that Vin Diesel has a decent singing voice, we’ve also learned that Vin Diesel is straight, he has a daughter, and woah! He’s 45? Has he been using the same moisturizer that Wentworth Miller is using?

If you’re curious, Diesel’s Riddick is also trending toward a $20 million opening weekend, which isn’t bad for a $38 million movie with cool monsters and very problematic, very uncomfortable misogynistic undercurrent.

"Rihanna" and "metal" should never be used in the same sentence.

I saw this when he posted it on his facebook page back around Valentine's Day. I have to admit, following him on facebook is one of the better choices I've made on the internet; he's so driven and charming and hilariously so serious about everything he does, it's kind of amazing.

Vin came out as a 45 year old heterosexual man? People like this are taking over this great land of ours, my fellow Americans. When are we going to start standing up for our way of life and our values? Soon we will be over-run, and people of this ilk shall be thick upon the ground.

    Take heed, Pajibans. Take heed.

You know, for a website about movies, tv, actors and actress's, you really have quite uninformed opinions of a lot of them.

What exactly makes the Riddick movie 'problematic'? Because women are mistreated in it (despite no one, really, getting 'good' treatment within the movie) ?

A lot of the recent articles you've published seem to now be pandering to a very specific crowd of people, and are verging on into the realms of clickbaiting.

there is actually a link there. Instead of asking rethorical questions you maybe can go to that particular article and see for yourself?

Despite this guy's meathead/dudebro fanbase, I've always had a soft spot for Vin Diesel. He's a shameless nerd and not in the way celebrities tend to be when they sign onto a superhero franchise, and were conveniently fans all along. Maybe it's also the fact that he believes so much in his characters like Toretto or Riddick, no matter how misguided the project.

  • Ruthie O

Aw, he's trying so hard. It's surprisingly endearing.
