This Trailer For 12 O'Clock Boys Will Break Your Heart And Make You Whole
It’s impossible to see these images of young men tearing through the Baltimore streets and not think of “The Wire.” That’s how much of an indelible mark David Simon’s drama has left on our pop-cultural landscape. But it’s my hope that once this absolutely mesmerizing documentary is released we’ll no longer have to filter our perception of Baltimore youth through a fictional lens. This preview is striking, affecting and has me hook, line and sinker. The film (which played at SXSW this year) won’t be released until 2014. I can hardly wait.
