One of the best and funniest and never-ending running gags in late night is the treatment of Matt Damon by Jimmy Kimmel. Damon has not only been the subject of a long series of pranks, but he’s humiliated in the various Kimmel viral videos, and he’s never actually allowed onto the show.

Last night, he finally got his chance. Unfortunately, they didn’t give him a chair. And when they finally did, it was only so he could sit in the corner and listen to Kimmel and the rest of the Monuments Men cast crap all over him (Cate Blanchett was particularly good). And what happens when Kimmel finally asks Damon a question? You’ll have to watch until the end fo find out.

Comments Are Welcome, Bigots and Trolls Are Not

I just can't wait to see what's next in the feud, even though I'd not known about it before.

  • Wrestling Fan

There are few things in this world that make me laugh more than the never ending feud between Kimmel and Damon. They both have so much fun with it, and that definitely carries over into some great segments!

  • When Damon said "Aw Shit" as the clip played, I just couldn't. I couldn't take any more. This is the greatest thing to ever be conceived by man.

And it really highlights what a good sport Damon is, seeing how long this goes. Although, you fail to mention the few times he has gotten Kimmel back, which tend to be much more epic.

  • foolsage

Agreed. They've made some fine videos as part of this feud though...

  • grr arrgh

Those are great, but I think the best thing was the episode where Matt Damon took over the show.

  • foolsage

That was a thing of beauty. I hadn't seen it. Thanks for sharing that! It really does round out the set nicely.

    You're very welcome!

I laughed out loud at Blanchett's "Make A Wish Foundation" line.

  • Timber56

I genuinely laughed but didn't exactly get the reference, the relevance.

  • Fabius_Maximus

The Make-A-Wish Foundation offers terminally ill children the chance to meet their idol or do something extraordinary.

I feel kind of bad for laughing at that joke.

Jimmy Kimmel just isn't my flavor. I think Conan and Jimmy Fallon are much funnier.
I can't wait to see this movie. My parents and I spent 2 weeks driving around France and Germany in 2006. We spent 10 days in Normandy. My dad is really into WWII and I'm an art historian. Going to see this movie with them will be another great addition to the wealth of memories we've built together learning about the past and appreciating the sacrifices made for us all. Even if it isn't cinematic gold, I know I'll enjoy it. + Bill Murray.

If you really are interested in this movie, I recommend you watch The Rape of Europa as well, which is basically the documentary version of Monuments Men. It's so well done and opens your eyes to a part of the war barely anyone realized even existed.

  • Shannon

I've seen it, a couple of times. I thought about rewatching it before I go see Monuments Men.

  • emmalita

Kimmel generally annoys me, but I will tolerate him in relation to his feud with Damon.
