The 2015 Best Film Compilation Will Remind You of the Many Movies You Still Need To See

Ah, the Year-End compilation. It might be the media’s greatest tool. Remember how much you loved that little seen gem? Now you can be pissed off all over again about how overlooked it was. Hated how much attention and love that terrible blockbuster got? Experience that outrage of seeing it fawned over like it’s your first time. Do you love President Obama? His favorite movie of 2015 is The Martian because he’s smart and funny and just a little bit nerdy. Hate President Obama? His favorite movie of 2015 is The Martian because he’s a chronic over-spender who is more concerned with the lives of people outside the country’s borders than inside them. See? It works for everything.

And if you’re planning to consume all of the year end lists (especially Pajiba’s immaculate ones. Seriously, we know where all of the best shit is), might I recommend starting with a really, really pretty one. Specifically the gorgeously edited and soundtracked list from Rolling Stone writer David Ehrlich. (Warning: Contains spoilers for Phoenix at 10:58 through basically the end of the video).

Since I’ve only seen one of these movies, I’ll clearly have some work to do before the end of the year. Just as soon as I can make myself stop watching Mad Max: Fury Road set to “Girls Just Want To Have Fun.”
