… oh wait. That came out wrong. That headline sounded a lot less harsh in my head. What I meant was, this adorable video featuring the courageous, young patients from Dartmouth Children’s Hospital lip-synching Katy Perry’s “Roar” will probably leave you in a puddle of happy/sad tears. After you’re done watching, you’ll probably feel some compulsion to donate to the hospital, but DON’T GIVE IN TO THEIR MANIPULATION.

I didn’t even open my wallet. I just threw the entire thing at my laptop, credit cards, driver’s license, dinner receipts, library cards and all. JUST TAKE IT ALL.

I made it to "I am a champion" and had to stop. Crying at work isn't ideal, and crying at work as a man in a department of men is probably less so.

  • pisswizard

I bawled shamelessly from about twenty seconds in.

Cincy Children's made a similar video about a year ago. My son (who was a patient there) and his brothers watched it about one thousand times.

Go ahead and throw your money at a children's hospital. I dare you. They will take it and do amazing things with it! Between the time my daughter was 8-9 she was in Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto 4 times for 4 different life threatening conditions. If your child is mobile, they can go to a games and crafts room where volunteers bake them brownies, or to the library, or to the theatre where the doctors perform a musical. If you're not mobile they host a tv call in game show, or bring crafts to your room so that you can do it while you watch a volunteer instruct you on your TV. Face painters and therapy dogs come to your room, as well as a teacher if you need to be there for significant time. My daughter had the best Halloween of her life there. And I tell you, that kind of focus on helping children enjoy their lives goes a long way towards healing them and getting them home. THROW THAT MONEY!!!

At BC Children's, there are signs everywhere reminding us "Play is the Work of Children." They work hard to support our kids and families. Give them all the money.

Sick Kids Hospital is damned awesome! I wish all our children had access to such a magnificent facility.

  • I clicked and had my pitchfork ready, and DID THIS TO ME, ROWLES.

  • Goddammit Rowles. You pulled out my feels so hard it nearly split me in half. Go back to saying mean things about horror movies so we can get back to the adversarial relationship I've come to know and love.

  • nosio

    Oh my god, my HEART.

  • bastich

    Oh, ok...the title was a's a relief...hold on, I'll be right back....

  • ZizoAH

I work in an insurance agency, so, FREE INSURANCE FOR ALL!

Also, I'm crying like a whore.

  • BlackRabbit

How....exactly does a whore cry? Does it sound like a dove?

  • NateMan

Like anyone else, but it costs you $200 an hour to watch.

  • BlackRabbit

Makes lapdances better too, or so I've heard.

  • ZizoAH

I always wondered the same thing, it's just an expression that I used always, and never understood why.

  • Buellie413

For the LOVE OF GOD. This destroyed me.

  • Is it legal to send bags of my own blood to them, along with my life savings? What about my firstborn?

  • NateMan

Do you really think they need MORE kids?

  • Sirilicious

Of course, to harvest the organs.

  • bonnie

Nope. I had to stop watching this, because I'm at work and I can visibly feel myself tearing up.

  • Anthony Hoffman

    Experimenting I see, Mr. Rowles.

  • TherecanbeonlyoneAdmin

Bastard. That almost thawed my soul.

  • mswas

NEVER throw in your library card. That's just wrong.

  • Mrs. Julien

You do love a nice library card.

  • Joe Grunenwald

I was really hoping this post would be about CHILDRENS HOSPITAL.

  • BigBlueKY

    I LOVE that show.
