We are only weeks away from the kickoff of the 2014-15 NFL season, when many of us have to try and figure out how to make our lives work again while also giving up 9-12 hours to the NFL each week (and will someone please explain to me why soccer leagues would schedule kids’ games on Sundays? Jesus Christ, think of the parents). It also means that 36 percent of the country is planning one or more fantasy drafts (here’s some fantasy team name suggestions from The League).

Personally, I’m still feeling fragile after seeing Peyton Manning destroyed by the Seahawks in the Super Bowl after turning in maybe the best season for a QB in the history of the NFL. But, the best pitchmen in the NFL is back, and he and Eli have combined to once again create an outstanding music video for DirectTV. It is sublimely lame, in the best kind of way. I can feel my soul begin to heal.

On the other hand, Peyton don’t give up your day job. But Eli? Maybe consider a career in rap. It can’t be any worse than the last couple of years as QB for the Giants.
