What I love about Nick Offerman is that, even in interviews, he never shatters our illusion that he’s just like Ron Swanson in real life, if Ron Swanson smoked more pot. Here he is on Letterman, noting that his “first tip for prosperity is to engage in romantic love.” He then gives us a song he performed for his wife, Megan Mullally, on her 50th birthday.

It’s a very sweet song. Have some tissue on hand.

I was at his American Ham Tour in UCLA a few weeks back. Megan Mullally sang, danced, and played the tambourine. And then Chris Pratt also made an appearance at the end of the show. Shirtless. In a hard hat. Playing the guitar. Singing 5000 Candles with Offerman, Mullally, and company.
It was spectacular.
