I have done some fucked up things to you people over the years. Some really cruel, unkind shit. And for that, I am not even a little bit sorry. However, on this day, I’ve decided to give you a gift.

Here it is, the pilot episode for Adult Swim’s animated television series based on the brilliant cult film character. Most of the film’s stars are returning for the series, including Michael Jai White, Byron Minns, Tommy Davidson and Kym Whitley. Kiddies, I give you Episode One of “Black Dynamite.”

Not that I should need to tell you, but it’s a bit NSFW.

I was skeptical about this as a show but I laughed so hard this entire episode. This could be a contender against archer for favorite animated show.

I am so very very mixed on this pilot because the "corrupt muppets" joke seems like an easy/done gag. It almost felt like I was watching a Mad magazine spoof play out whenever Kurtis was on-screen -- and much like a Mad spoof, the spot-on visuals were often the strongest part of it.

But the aforementioned visual polish, the great direction, and the landing of practically every other gag (the censor bar appearance; "I never told you this, but I was once a children") makes me ridiculously happy, and I'd like very much to see more episodes as they come out.
