If Every Math Class Were Taught by Danica McKellar, There'd Be More Mathematicians than Baristas in the World

Danica McKellar of Wonder Years fame, who is now the most beautiful 39 year old on the face of the planet, has a new web series out. It’s about math. I don’t really care for math (too many numbers!), but if McKellar wants to put on a fairy costume and frolic around while singing a song about Pi, I’m not going to argue, mostly because my heart stopped and I can’t form words (all those letters!)

For the record, she goes 139 digits into Pi, which may be the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen on the Internet.

Reminder: This scene, starting at the 2:50 mark, was the first time a television show ever made me cry.

As far as π goes, I prefer Kate Bush. I'm that kind of nerd.

Good lord...sexy math nerds, cosplay, AND puppets?

It's like someone made a video out of my porn browsing history.

It's probably not the first time 'Danica McKellar' and 'pie' have been in a google search.

    I'll just leave this here.

When did she come out as a 39-year-old woman?

Ummm, give me a minute. I need to... find my hypotenuse and calculate the hell out of it.

  • Bananapanda

    High on pot e nuse?

  • Ok. Everyone needs to get over the pi fascination. You've memorized 100 digits of pi? Congratulations. You must be a joy to chat up at parties. Stop it. You're just showing off, and looking like a right wanker while doing it.

Seriously, when are you ever going to need more than two or three significant digits in calculations you're doing in your head/on paper? You going to be multiplying the radius by all 100 digits by hand? Godtopus, I hope the radius is a whole number, otherwise, you're going to be there for a while.

But Danica is wonderful, of course, with her sexy, sexy mind....and tutu.

  • Engineers are expected to know it up to six sigfigs off-hand.

    Engineers are too intense.

  • Well when you have to take a small deviation and multiply it millions of times for a mile of paper or a skyscraper, those significant figures become very significant indeed. They can make the difference between a building falling down or staying up, or a factory worker getting beheaded by a broken sheet of paper (ultimate papercut.) I'm okay with engineers being intense.

I personally love the number pi, but not in Arabic numerals. I love that it has it's own designation as a Greek letter. That's enough for me.

    Π π.
