Garfunkel and Oates Get Douched

Do you know Garfunkel and Oates? Have you ever heard Pregnant Woman are Smug? Sex With Ducks? Self Esteem? No? Go get your gun, load it, deep throat the barrel and pull the trigger. You really have no reason to be on this earth anymore as you must not have a sense of humour or are just a jerk in general. I could spend my entire time here this evening educating you on this duo of lovely singer-actresses from LA, but I’m not your mother or your father and I don’t particularly care if you enjoy living your life as if you were a disease infested hobo tossing your own salad in a garbage bin of ignorance.

They write some great satire and are musically gifted which is more than I can say for you lot. They’ve done some actressin’ and made some guest appearances on some shows you know - but, for me, it always comes back to their songs. I suppose it doesn’t hurt that they’re hot as hell too. Sit back, relax and find what little enjoyment that this will add to your miserable existence.

Kate Micucci rocks my world!

Posted by: frank_247 at February 17, 2011 8:35 PM

I've developed quite a crush on Kate Micucci over the last year or so. I saw Garfunkel and Oates last month and Kate's show "Playin' With Micucci" last Saturday, when she sang songs, played several instruments and read stories while having strep throat. And when she is healthy, she usually bakes cookies too!!!

Then she came out and talked to everyone and even signed my Garfunkel and Oates kazoo!!! (when they play together , they give out gift bags with kazoos, pens, lighters, stickers and little candy bars to keep up your energy). The music is not only good, but they are good people too. I insist next time they play, we have a Pajiba outing!!!

If anyone has something bad to say about Kate Micucci, I will fight you!!!

"I aint in love with you cousin, I aint George Michael Bluth, this party just took a turrrrn for the douche"

I love these two. I saw them live in NYC and talked to them before the show. The sweetest sexiest most adorkable duo you would ever want to meet.

Wait. What?! I love them because they have been around for ever (which means that I actually have heard of them)! Even my husband (the snobby musician - who has issues with female singers (and male singers - singers in general, probably) unless it's a specific type of female singer - long story there) loves these guys and it takes years for him to grow and understand enough for that shit to happen.
When you have hot chicks singing funny (but damn good) lyrics to good music that they play themselves, that equals WIN!
All of this is to say that I am actually more than a little offended by your lead sentence.

Rubble44, have you caught Micucci on the Fox show "Raising Hope"? She plays her uke on it. She's one of the reasons why I love that show.

"Like Dennis Quaid in Innerspace, up inside the weenie!" and "Hope she's birth controlled, like Margaret Sanger." I LOVE these ladies.

I actually just caught up on Hulu Plus. I watched the first 7 a couple weeks ago when sick and 4 more the last two nights. I didn't know she was on so much, just a bonus, I started watching because my friends said it was funny.

Still love watching her as the Gooch on Scrubs too.

Oh my... I almost ran over a taco stand when I was listening to Doug Benson's podcast once. It's because these gals were debuting "Running With Chicken", and that made me love them forever.

One of them better not get extra goofylicious and tackle my Eisenberg because that's about the only thing that would unlove them from me.

More Ashanti poems!

Pregnant women ARE smug! I already gave your first trimester ass my seat on the subway, as a courtesy and without prompting and you're going to whine to the whole car that people don't have any consideration for the befouled of womb? You're pre-emptively angry for a future situation and muddying the waters, so to speak, by mourning the loss of something that hasn't happened whilst receiving the benefits of situation that you have suggested doesn't exist? Bitch, I don't really care. Quit bringing the topic of pregancy every five minutes, you the Tuvan throat singers we flew in really care to hear you shoehorn your mucous plug into every conversation?

'Oh, but you don't understand because--'
'Because, 'so'?'

It's nice and all, but I'm happy for you from a distance.

When are they going to take down engaged women? 'My fianCE, my fianCE, my fianCE. I broke my wristy bits, so I have to hold my ring like this. It's quite the bother because--and my fianCE would agree...'

Yeah, he's deaf.

And the parties. You know, I made it to the music store without getting distracted by the Honest Ed's lights and getting lost. I promise you, this rarely happens. I want a bunch of parties too. Anything less than Swarovski and I'll cut you like a box.

I feel like the humor here is based too much on pop culture references, same thing I don't like about something like "Family Guy"...and looking at their other videos, I think they also have the FG tendency to take one vaguely risqué premise (like sex with ducks or mocking pregnant women) and stretching it out for too long without adding much to the joke beyond the original premise. But lots of people like Family Guy, so what do I know...

THANK YOU! I was thinking about them the other day, but couldn't for the life of me remember what they were called.

It annoys me when people say this group in particular is funny, especially when they add insult to injury, and say that they're attractive too. They are neither. They are awful and awful to look at. But if you enjoy them, it is America, so go for it you people with low standards.

Garfunkel and Oates play at the UCB theater in Hollywood once a month. It's an hour show with a guest and it's 10 bucks.

Playin' With Miccuci used to be once a month, but as they get more gigs and with the new HBO show coming up, it will be a lot more random. But it was at the Steve Allen theater, only 12 bucks, an hour and a half and really good.

Oh, I was thinking you meant in the 'Burgh. Where do you live, L.A.?

Posted by: , at February 18, 2011 10:44 AM

TIGG!!! haha and Sarah. The perfect combo for a douche party!

Posted by: majandratoo at February 18, 2011 12:34 PM

They rock.

ThatGuy is just pissed because he's got a bathroom full of Axe body spray and a closet full of Ed Hardy t-shirts. And he thought he was so cool ...

It happens to all of us, ThatGuy. That realization, that, "Hey! I use Axe! And I have tons of Ed Hardy shit! Those bitches are talking about me!"
