In a recent Instagram post, Anna Kendrick eloquently and lengthily expressed her shock and awe over the fact that her single from Pitch Perfect, “Cups,” has been in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for five weeks. I’ll let the lady speak for herself.

Shock and awwwww, right? I mean, she’s not wrong. It’s a cute song and I didn’t at all mind that a wee neighbor girl tried to teach it to me for several hours at a party a few weeks back. Not. At. All. But, this is kind of ridiculous. In case you’ve been living under a rock…

And, in conclusion, though we’ve mentioned before how splendidly dear Anna Kendrick’s Instagram is, it bears repeating. Because that thing is deep fried gold.

What I wanna know is, how is she AnnaKendrick47? Are there 46 other Anna Kendricks? Or is 47 her lucky number or something?

Pitch Perfect was pretty awesome. I mean, I got sick of the Top 40 crap after awhile, but still, it was highly enjoyable. I'd watch it again in a heartbeat.

    This is everything...

  • Renton

Did these gals ever get credit? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

  • Renton

Answered my own question: yes they did. But it's still a bummer that they didn't record the hit version.

  • Joe Grunenwald

That music video is pretty cool, though I'm not a big fan of the radio version of the song. I like the version that's on the movie soundtrack more, though I know that doesn't lend itself to much radio play.

  • go_nelly

i'm kind of indifferent, i don't love or hate her. i mean as a person she seems cool, and she certainly has a beautiful voice. but she was pretty awful in Drinking Buddies... zero chemistry with Jake Johnson (how is that even possible?), fumbled her way through the whole improv thing, and just came off as trying way too hard. it was kind of painful to watch.

  • Jiffylush

I think a lack of chemistry in a relationship that isn't working is kind of the point. I assume both her and Ron were supposed to be dull or vanilla compared to Jake and Olivia.

  • go_nelly

but we were supposed to believe that Jake's character and Anna's character had been together for many years and that they were planning on getting married. and yet they couldn't manage to hold a conversation with each other about anything, it was like watching cave people grunt back and forth with one-syllabal words. it didn't even come across to me like a relationship that wasn't working, at times it felt more like a first date, two people who didn't know each other at all. and *spoiler* they still ended up staying together. plus, her scenes with Ron Livingston were incredibly awkward too. the girl needed a script.

  • cruzzercruz

To be fair, Ron Livingston didn't even do that great a job. The only parts of that movie that shown in their naturalistic beauty were the scenes with Jake Johnson and Olivia Wilde.

  • go_nelly

this is true. aside from the banter between Jake Johnson and Olivia Wilde, Drinking Buddies kind of sucked. and before i knew the whole thing was improvised, i thought it TOTALLY sucked. which made me sad, because i have much love for Jake Johnson. so i gave it a second watch, to better appreciate the improvisation, and i put on subtitling because i was sure i had missed something the first time with all the offhanded comments and mumbling. after that i decided it was "okay." but i recently got to see him in another film, The Pretty One, with Zoe Kazan, and i liked that one a lot more.

  • Michelle

Yeah, Jake Johnson and Olivia Wilde owned that movie.

  • csb

It's definitely had an impact. I'm just gonna leave this here.

  • Tinkerville

This is incredible. Just sent it to my Irish family.

  • Jack London

WOW! Thank you so much for posting that video. I've spent the last hour devouring clips from that channel, wiping away tears of joy. I've never heard Irish before and there's something bloody magical about it. The cover of Some Nights put a massive smile on my face. Seriously - thank you for sharing this!

  • Ruthie O

Oh man, now I'm devouring those videos! They are a mixture of such fun, joy, and a big fuck you to colonialism. It's powerful to see so many young folks sing in Irish Gaelic!

  • junierizzle

    Im kinda over her........

  • Jezzer

My weariness of Anna Kendrick is tempered only by my dread of whatever thing Pajiba is going to latch onto and overdo next.

  • kirivinokur

You have Pajiba to thank for that. Kendrick love is approaching Twilight proportions when it comes to crossing the fan-celeb reality barrier.

  • There'll Be Pancakes

It's like Emma Stone, Anna Kendrick and Jennifer Lawrence are in an awesome-off for the title of my superhard girl crush. I love these three girls so much, I love them more than most guys

  • Tinkerville

There honestly aren't many celebrities I'd say this about, but I'd give my left arm to get drunk, get up to ridiculous shenanigans, and talk about life till 3am with her.

  • BlackRabbit

I wouldn't. My life is pretty boring. But I appreciate the idea.

  • ,

She's interesting. She probably wouldn't be the prettiest or the hottest girl working the checkout lines at, say, your local Walmart, but put the girl in front of a camera and adorableness happens.

  • Benderman

Our Walmarts are very different then.

  • Mrcreosote

My Walmart is staffed by Victoria's Secret Models, Olympic swimmers, the 1983 cast of Fame (Kept perpetually young) and a pack of corgi puppies so I can see how this could happen.

  • I want your Walmart. Mine is staffed by toothless, aging strippers, meth-heads, sad-faced retirees, exhausted single moms, and people who have never had even a finger-hold on the middle class. That last item might be redundant.

  • yocean

Since I LOOOOVE Anna Kendrick as much as all here and really wants her in my short "Life-Size Godzilla" I'm shamelessly plugging my finished IndieGogo Campaign video. Might do one on kickstarter tho.

i really would give a kidney for her.

  • I watched Pitch Perfect solely because of her. I loathe musicals and while I predictably didn't enjoy the music parts, she is just fantastic. I'm waiting for a sequel in which the music is hard rock/metal and she plays guitar and broods even more. My palms just got sweaty typing that.

  • BigBlueKY

you didn't watch it for Fat Amy? not even a little bit?

  • Ok, maybe a little. She was good.

  • hello

she has to give an amazing blowjob with them lips

  • cruzzercruz

I applaud you for speaking your id. As if the guys don't immediately think this and keep it to themselves, looking around in mutual shame.

  • Mrs. Julien

It's the "keep it to themselves" part that we appreciate.

  • JoannaRobinson

Oh, dude, don't tussle with Everyone's Internet Girlfriend.

  • L.O.V.E.

To be fair, since she seems multi-talented and perfect in everything she does and since 50% is enthusiasm, and 30% is the eyes, there is a good chance he is correct about AK; he just focused on the wrong qualities.

  • CelinaA

"You're gonna miss me by my walk,
You're gonna miss me by my talk, ooh"
Yes, I'm going to miss you by your taco.
    I cannot unhear this.
    But I do love her.

  • APOCooter

Like, she's in my five freebies, but I don't want to do anything to her. I just want to put her on a shelf and admire her adorableness.

  • Maguita NYC

    Or inside a cupboard.

  • duckandcover

She's probably the best thing to survive Twilight, outside of RPattz's charming self-loathing.

  • zyzzyva

I also pray that Lee Pace is another. So far, so good.

  • Pants-are-a-must

    Equally awesome, I agree.
