Fight Club is impossibly stupid at it’s core, but the fighting and screwing are a lot of fun. Calvin and Hobbes is a glittering jewel, a perfectly rendered work of absolute genius. What do you get when you put them together? You get something pretty damned cool.

From GorillaMask (site probably NSFW):

Jason Harris believes that violence may not be the answer, but you can’t be sure until you try.

I just came in my pants ... a little.

I will pay to see this as a full feature.

I think that may be the best mash-up in existence. Hobbes as Tyler Durden is perfection. Picturing Susie doing ANYTHING that Marla Singer did in that movie? A bit disturbing though.

Words fail me. 'Loved it' isn't encompassing enough. Thanks for posting this.

After reading the 10th Anniversary Edition of Calvin and Hobbes (highly recommended for fans) I now know that Bill Watterson refused to sell merchandizing rights to any C&H images, despite considerable attempted persuasion by his publishers. To no avail!

Any time you see one of those Calvin-peeing car stickers? Totes fraudulent. Watterson makes no money from any Calvin and Hobbes stuff. Just FYI.

Brilliant!! My husband and I love Calvin and Hobbes so much that last year for our anniversary we both got Calvin and Hobbes tattoos. :)

Just yesterday I was in Barnes & Noble holding onto the $150 hardcover box set of the Entire Calvin & Hobbes. One was unwrapped and I got a chance to leaf right through it.

It was really hard to put it back.

Somewhere in Chagrin Falls, OH, Bill Watterson weeps.

I've always respected Watterson for his stance on merchandising...although I would have loved a three foot tall stuffed Hobbes doll.

My cats are named Calvin and Hobbes.

I think you'd make pretty good soap.

I'll just leave that here ..

That's true. But what's interesting is that because Watterson would not allow any official merchandise - it makes it harder to stop the fake stuff because there's no 'loss of earnings'.

I have a Calvin T-shirt that I bought in France a few years back. I sort of feel guilty Bill isn't getting money from it, but I have bought all his books as well - so he's made a fair bit of money of of me.

Besides, I have a T-shirt WITH CALVIN ON IT and I see the envy in the eyes of others!

Incidentally, we do all know that Calvin and Hobbes are online now, don't we?

That complete box sets weighs 25 lbs and it is gorgeous.

BarnesandNoble.com currently has the complete hardcover box set going for 50% off, at $75 (plus shipping).

It's a nice effort, but for me Fight Club is a film of mythical status not to be mashed-up with anything. This is like when people mess with the greatness that is beer and come up with lame drinks called Shandy Gaff, Red Eye and so on.

There is nothing stupid about Fight Club, Jason Harris. Go stick feathers up your butt.

admin, that was perfect.

Susie Derkins ought to be legal by now ... just sayin'.

Posted by: , at January 14, 2011 10:56 AM

Perhaps the only improvement would be Susie Derkins saying, "I haven't been fucked like that since grade school."

This link http://ignatz.brinkster.net/cfightclub.html really explains it all. Brilliant and funny.
