Budweiser's Inspired Attempt to Make Canadians Cry During the Super Bowl

For obvious reasons, the commercial below will only be shown in Canada during the Super Bowl, and it’s fairly magical. Budweiser attempts to do for hockey what “Friday Night Lights” did for football, and do so in two minutes. The beer seller basically fetes a rec hockey league, and treats the game like a real NHL match. It’s a great ad — and maybe a weeper for Canadian hockey fans — but it is a little difficult to get past the Budweiser sloganeering.

But it is very, very sweet and very well-intentioned.
