About That Time Jay Leno Showed Footage Of Bryan Cranston's "Mighty Morphin Power Ranger" Days

Every single actor in Hollywood has skeletons in their career closet but maybe none quite so cheese-tastic as Bryan Cranston’s voice-over work on “The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.” Jay Leno, no stranger to cheese, “unearthed” a video of Cranston voicing a…well… a giant lizard monster thing. In case you can’t watch the whole video below (and you should, the sound is the best part), here’s the money shot:

Cranston then “retaliated” with some vintage “Good Times” footage of Leno and it was all very fun in a hokey, completely-planned-and-rehearsed-beforehand sort of way. Anyway, enjoy one of the greatest thespians of the small screen in all his glory.

  • Between this and the kidnapping-Mulder-for-a-road-trip episode of X-Files (and his appearances in Seinfeld and the fact that he appeared three separate times as three separate characters in Murder She Wrote), I'm beginning to suspect that Bryan Cranston has been secretly involved in every TV show I've watched since roughly 1990. Lurking in the shadowy backgrounds of Are You Afraid of the Dark? Running a successful business somewhere in Anya's Buffy-less evil timeline. Voting quietly and dutifully checking the daily work roster as an unnamed member of the Baltimore Stevedores Union. Joining the misguided villagers in worshiping Jayne as a god among men. Purchasing a chocolate-covered banana from the Bluths. He is EVERYWHERE.

Yow! I remember that Good Times scene from way back when I was a little kid. So that was Jay -- huh!

  • Jim

Oh my god that was so embarrassingly rehearsed.

Do they think we should believe both of them just happened to prepare humiliating old clips and have them set up to air, without knowing the other had?

  • stella

It's ok Mr Cranston, Power Rangers was awesome and absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. You're still the man.

When watching a show and there's an actor with just one or two lines, I sometimes wonder if that is their "big showbiz moment", and everyone in their family was watching and screaming at home, and anticipating great things to come. There must be legions of actors in that situation and getting to wear a monster suit would be a huge break.

Can I just say that this website is perhaps one of the slowest loading webpages on the internet, that it freezes so much that I only come here 2 to 3 times a week. This website makes my computers freeze like no other page I visit.

  • Fabius_Maximus

It's probably the ads. I ran the site adblock free for a few months until every individual page froze up my computer for up to a minute. I switched the progs back on after that.

    Sorry guys.

  • Bennetttt

Well, I really not trying to be mean because if I didn't care or enjoy the site enough I wouldn't say anything.
For me its a minimal freeze of 2 minutes, 3 to 5 on typical day which leaves me to believe I'm not the only one.
It comes down to a ratio of how many ads are worth it verses loss readers due to freeze loading.
Sometimes the freezes occur many times if i attempt to load individual posts, or back pages which can add up to 15 to 20 minute freeze times which again has to be scaring off many more new readers than ad gain. So, which is most worth it?
Anyways, sorry for the vigilantes. Over & out until more free time is allotted to me.

  • Fabius_Maximus

Well, it probably doesn't happen to everyone, and it's probably not as bad as your problem, which seems to be rather bad.

For a fun experiment, install Ghostery for your browser. It will show (and block) all trackers the site has. For me, it indicates 17 at the moment. The number was as high as 30 in the past, though.

I first remember seeing Bryan Cranston in an episode of "Babylon 5", where he played a Ranger Captain who has to sacrifice himself and his crew in order to convince the Shadows (uber-powerful alien race bent on destruction) that their trap isn't a trap.

You work long enough in Hollywood, you'll have those odd gigs that don't seem to fit with what makes you popular/famous.

Tim Watley, Hal, Walter White.....he truly is.
Yesterday, I finally began my Breaking Bad journey, which I've been meaning to do for years. Ep 1 and 2. 5 stars! I also watched the first season of Orange is the New Black and HIGHLY recommend it. What a fantastic series, though it is hard looking at Taryn Manning's meth grill.

  • The Mom and Pop store was on TBS yesterday. They didn't give him much to work with, the highlight being telling George it was John Voit that owned his LeBaron, not Jon Voit. But he was rocking a solid beard.

Breaking Bad is going to get very dark. If you are a delicate flower like me (I'm a peony), I just want to warn you that you have to get through the turtle and ATM episodes. After that, things level out.

I mentioned this on FB, but it bears repeating: My brother-in-law has been watching all the back episodes with his 10 (maybe 11) year old son and that still doesn't top the time he bought his 9 year old daughter a handgun for Christmas.

  • Wigamer

I will never re-watch the ATM episode. Even though it's the one that cemented Jesse's fundamental goodness for me, nope, never.

  • Mrs. Julien

I walked away from the show during that one. I came back when Saul entered the scene.
