Parks and Recreation: Man alive, that felt good. That felt needed. That felt right. That was one hell of a kiss, and compound that with Ron Swanson’s good deed for Andy, and “Parks and Rec” continued to demonstrate why it’s maybe the sweetest, cuddliest, most lovable show on television.

  • “One thing I promised myself when I buried gold in my backyard was that I never be a hoarder or a miser about it.” — Ron Swanson

  • “”The only good font is the Sopranos font where the “R” is a Pistol.” — Tom Haverford

  • “Good news, son. You have just won a Ron Swanson scholarship.” — Ron Swanson

  • “Woman’s Lasers! I would totally sign up for that course!” — Andy Dwyer

  • “For what it’s worth, I think you would make an incredible brunette.” — Ron Swanson

Leslie: There is another option. We could… just say screw it and do this thing for real.

    Ben: What?

Leslie: I miss you like crazy. I think about you all the time. I want to be with you. So let’s just say screw it!

Ben: No. We would have to tell Chris-

    Leslie: Yeah

Ben: it could turn into a scandal-

    Leslie: Yeah

Ben: it could hurt your campaign,

    Leslie: Yes

Ben: I mean how would, how would you imagine we do this?

Leslie: I don’t know. But I, I know how I feel. And I want to be with you. But I’m done steamrolling people. This is how I feel. How do you feel?

YEEEEEEEEES. I screamed (LOUDLY) and clapped and laughed and MrFig started cracking up at my "ridiculous" (NO, MrFig, it was totally appropriate!) reaction.

    It was perfect.

  • Aaand now I can't stop watching those .gifs. They make me SO HAPPY. This show makes me happy. The sweetness of Ron and Andy, of Tom and Jerry, Ben and Leslie, Ann...dammit, everyone.

    *sniff*

Wow, that's a lot of mackin' on my work computer.

Also, I was just informed that my temp contract is not being renewed again, so I'm basically fired, effective on the 30th. If anybody is on the north side of Indy and sees someone sitting in a parking lot futilely attempting to hide her flask and the fact that she's drinking on her lunch break, please do stop by to say hello.

More than the kiss there was this super vulnerable, insecure eyebrow thing that Amy Poehler did right before the kiss. KILLED ME. Give her all the Emmys. Go steal Melissa McCarthy's Emmy and give it to Amy. She's earned it.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills! THEY HAVE NO CHEMISTRY!

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at November 18, 2011 11:58 AM

    sweet...and not funny.

Posted by: thisoneguy at November 18, 2011 12:02 PM

    *dreamy sigh*

I almost died laughing at Jerry's love of Comic Sans. OF COURSE he loves Comic Sans. Damn it, Jerry!

That was one hell of a kiss. Leslie swooned, I swooned, Figgy exploded. Oh, Adam Scott... *sigh*

Posted by: MelBivDevoe at November 18, 2011 12:06 PM

I agree with Mrs Julien. Two nice people but I always feel like they have a parent/child feel. I can't feel the spark. Now Andy and April, those two have chemistry for days.

Posted by: becks at November 18, 2011 12:15 PM

Mrs. Julien, you are indeed taking crazy pills. Their chemistry is out of control. If Amy Poehler and Will Arnett weren't always showing up places together looking adorable, the Leslie and Ben chemistry would make me fear for her marriage. Adam Scott has perfected sweeping in for cathartic make out sessions, and the longing looks they've been shooting each other all season hurt my soul.

...basically, I am way too invested in these television characters. And I'm fine with that.

Posted by: Artemis at November 18, 2011 12:20 PM

I don't think they have much chemistry, either. Certainly nothing like the chemistry between Andy and April. I still enjoy the characters but I really don't see the sparks.

Posted by: Wednesday at November 18, 2011 12:29 PM

You think April & Andy have chemistry? Did you not SEE that embrace between Ron & Andy!? MELTED my screen I tell you. Rowr!

Posted by: TylerDFC at November 18, 2011 12:33 PM

Haha, there was definite chemistry there as well, TylerDFC.

Posted by: becks at November 18, 2011 12:46 PM

    Just when I thought I couldn't love Adam Scott anymore . . . *sigh*
But I like Ann less now that I know she doesn't like Harry Potter.

I missed last night's episode but this post just made my day. Thank Pajiba :)

Where's the recap of The Office? I just want a gif of Robert California's face when he realizes Kevin was talking about cookies the whole time.

Posted by: Sam at November 18, 2011 3:22 PM

You guys are taking crazy pills. I've rarely seen a TV couple with more chemistry than Ben and Leslie. And god, the two actors...the hurt faces and oof, that KISS.

    CRAZY PILLS.

Posted by: figgy at November 18, 2011 7:39 PM

Also, Adam Scott looks like he'd be an amaaazing kisser. Mmmhmm.

Posted by: figgy at November 18, 2011 7:40 PM

The way he grabs the back of her neck kills me... I'm still all tingly from watching this last night.

Posted by: Tits McGee at November 18, 2011 9:31 PM

I won't say I've become Pajiba-fied, but during that great moment when Leslie was baring her soul to Ben (The Hedgehog), my first thought was that somewhere in Dallas, Figgy might just have some dust in her eye. I think I may need a break from this place.

And to those who question Ann's purpose on this show, she's Leslie's anchor. Without her, Leslie would take off like a helium-filled balloon.

Posted by: Uriah Creep at November 18, 2011 9:45 PM

You left off the part in Ron's quote to the professor in the women's studies class where he says, "....Ron Swanson". I laughed my ass off. That was the line of the night. In the words of Chang from Community, "Using it".

Posted by: Dave at November 18, 2011 10:36 PM

Glad a few people said it already - I enjoy the storyline and all but don't see any chemistry there. I think it speaks to Adam Scott's shortcomings as a dramatic actor - it must be hard to act like he's not *completely* out of her league!

Posted by: HALLSY at November 19, 2011 1:23 PM

I had a dream last night with Adam Scott. We were on a soccer team playing in the kitchen of a cruise ship. One that had a water park. Also we were running from people, possibly the opposing soccer team.

I know it's silly that I had this reaction, because obviously they were going to get back together, but I really did think it was over, and that the best option was for them to never see each other again, because hoo boy, they turn into Crazy Town mayors when just friends. So I emotionally distanced myself from them, so well that by the time they kissed, I didn't care.
