HBO’s “Entourage,” now in its seventh season, is a complex emotional drama. It’s a minefield of plot turns, complications, and relationship turmoil. We here at Pajiba don’t want you to have to face the density of the show alone. That’s why, starting today, each and every Monday throughout the seventh season, we will be tracking every crucial highlight of the show. We will be your guide through the twists and turns of the HBO comedy so that, the next time a friend or co-worker asks you the challenging questions presented in “Entourage,” we’ll have the answers. The growth and maturity of the characters is often difficult to keep up with; as long as you stick with Pajiba, you’ll never not know what’s going on in “Entourage.”

Background Context: Vince is filming a Nick Cassavetes action film; Turtle owns his own limousine service featuring models as chauffeurs; Eric is engaged to Sloan; Johnny Drama is unemployed; and Ari runs the most successful talent agency in the world.

Week 1 Highlights

  • Vince succumbs to pressure from Nick Cassavetes and does his own stunt.

  • Eric is still engaged.

  • Johnny Drama is still unemployed; Lloyd can’t find him a job.

  • One of Turtle’s drivers quits after Turtle makes a pass at her.

  • Ari still runs the most successful agency in the world.

Take some time to process all of that. Read it over a few times, if necessary. Take notes. Check back next Monday, and we’ll continue adding pieces to this convoluted and entangled dramatic puzzle.

I started watching this show when Spike (the second-stupidest name for a network, after "SyFy") started running it.

I kinda like it so far. It's more entertaining than "Sex and the City."

  • I assume you'll simply cut-and-paste this post for the next few months?

    Entourage: By Douchebags, For Douchebags

Nothing wrong with that, though - even the douche-filled among us need something to watch every week.

That Vinnie Chase action movie is gonna tank. He looks like a particularly aggressive paintball player surrounded by the cast of Cirq Du Douche. I did like the dummy on the roof of the car however. I imagine the movie is the action remake of "Weekend at Bernie's".

I kind of like how simple this show is: it's my perfect background show. I just wish I had more episodes to play while I do other stuff; it makes everything a tiny bit more interesting.

I'm so confused. I thought Ari was now running a movie studio. This show is so hard to keep up with.

Entourage is still on? Huh. Learn something new every day.

The one thing I remember about this show, (besides the recycled plot) is that the characters were constantly saying each other's names. Even if there were just two people in a scene, and they weren't referencing a third, they said each other's names every five seconds. It's as if they know that if the audience isn't repeatedly reminded of who these twats are, they'll immediately snap out of the douch-daze, forget everything like Leonard in Memento, and flip to something more interesting like a Slap Chop infomercial or a live colonoscopy.

Goddamit! My brand new sarcasm detector blown to hell! Weird thing is it wasn't even on....

One of my friends got a job this season as costumer on the show. Her report thus far: Adrian Grenier is really short, and Piven is, as has been previously only suspected, a super gigantic mega asshole.

But hey, at least she is getting paid.

The rumor is there will be a Showtime/HBO crossover with Dexter this season in which Dex makes a change to his code to include the most vapid and useless individuals alive, so of course his first targets are the Entourage gang. Everyone is dead by the end of the season but they are magically returned to normal in the last 2 minutes of the finale. Cue some fist bumps and obligatory boobs and it is just business as usual for the ole gang.

jM - Oh, I wish you hadn't pointed that out. Repeated name mentions is a huge peeve of mine. I hadn't noticed last night, but I may never be able to watch the show again.

    Hee.

At first I thought Vince was filming the Enzo Ferrari movie, but then I saw the scene with the gun and the guy on fire so now I have no idea what the fuck he's doing. Eric & Sloane again and Johnny still not getting work = boring. And Turtle's a pimp now?

Thanks for that recap. I don't think I would have understood the nuanced plot without your help!

Turtle's business is NO WAY believable. I would have believed that he opened up a shoe store or something since he loves shoes.

I guess you guys figured nothing has happened since week 1
