Dalton can't be the bad Bond. That's Lazenby.

Posted by: Fredo at November 2, 2010 9:47 AM

@Fredo: Agreed

Lazenby came across as a real asshat, that movie is unwatchable on sooooo many levels. What a waste of Mrs. Peel. Timothy just came in at a bad time, atrocious scripts that weren't suited to his style.

Wow, and that would make the good Bond ... who? Roger Moore? I would take either Dalton or Lazenby about a thousand times over. Enjoyed both of them more than any of the Moore films.

Fiendish Dustin Rowles, you done FUCKED UP NOW!

Oh, you bet your ass. Moore was the right Bond for the period, I can just imagine Lazenby trying to play Bond on The Spy Who Loved Me or how about Live and Let Die? Dude was a square, he would have looked ridiculous.

Dalton was great. Glad he's sticking around, but I'll miss Tuttle. He had some of the funniest lines in a while.

Hopefully now that Chuck is Intersect-less the writers will do something interesting with it and keep him powerless for a while. Or maybe the CIA can actually put him through all the training that he would just download now like Neo.

Yay! Chuck is good again! And notice, Sarah's hair was tons better this week (and a little bit better last week) than it had been most of the season.

Dalton so works as a bad guy, but he didn't really need that accent. Eh, I'm just glad they're rebooting Chuck to start adapting to spy life without the spy brain.

And Moore was a dumb/awful Bond, but one you compare him to Dalton and Lazenby, I suppose he's the best choice. Connery, Brosnan and Craig for the win.

Dalton was, in my opinion, the best actor to play Bond. Maybe not the best Bond, but the best actor. He gets a lot of shit because his movies weren't popular, but I don't think he deserves the blame.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service is one of the best Bond movies ever, maybe top three, and Lazenby, while not a great actor, was good enough. And I honestly can't imagine any of the other Bonds, even Connery, pulling off the final scene as well as he did.

Posted by: Todd at November 2, 2010 10:47 AM

@Todd: YES. Agreed on all counts.

How is it that Dalton looks so much less evil than he did in Hot Fuzz? Is it just the lack of a killer mustache?

Posted by: alphawhiskey at November 2, 2010 2:13 PM

Timothy Dalton wasn't the Bad Bond -- he was the Bad-Ass Bond! Loved how he kicked out the windshield of a tractor-trailer and crawled out on the hood to get to Sanchez in LTK. And his head-butts. Better go watch TLD and LTK again.

That there looks like a flux capacitor in that car. They're going to time travel!!!!

Posted by: Uriah Creep at November 2, 2010 10:43 PM

Dalton wasn't the problem, the scripts were. Oh the horrible, horrible scripts. Moore's Bond was cheesy, but he worked. Brosnan only had one decent movie. I can't even remember On Her Majesty's Secret Service because I hated Lazenby so much.

I stopped watching Chuck a long time ago, but I enjoy these picture recaps.
