Bones & Wacky Depp Skitter and Doo-Wop

Here’s a second trailer for The Tourist, Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck ‘s action flick about an “extraordinary woman” who purposely crosses the path of an American tourist in Italy starring Johnny Depp and Bones. This second trailer downplays Depp’s extended goofiness in the first trailer, but still doesn’t answer the question of why you’d hire the uber-cool Depp to play a bumbling tourist.

Tney can cut the trailer any way they want, if it still has Jolie, that's a deal breaker.

I really think this movie is going to suck hard. From the trailers I've seen, it seems like they basically decided all they needed to do was have Jolie and Depp as love interests and they would be good to go. That's not enough for me personally.

I have almost no interest in this film. The story sounds kind of boring, and I'm kind of over Angie.

But damn, Johnny looks GOOOOOD.

Hey Beav, you feelin' this, too?

The only thing I'm interested in about this movie are the Venice location shots. I was here all during the filming and every time I turned around there was a massive crowd watching Angelina and Johnny do... well, nothing. Damn, it takes a long time to set up a shot.

I did see the child army out and about 10 or 12 times in various parts of the city. That was more entertaining.

Well, DUH.

He ISN'T a bumbling tourist.

It's the only plausible explanation. I haven't seen anything else about this film except what's been posted here, but work with me; Depp is MISTAKEN for someone wanted in 7 countries? Well... what if his character really is the guy who's wanted? What if Angelina's character thinks she's using him but he's really using her?

All of a sudden the bumbling tourist isn't either.

(It's a theory. All I know is, I'm there.)

Well, for a while there I though "Bones" meant Emily Deschanel, which would have been more interesting.

Same old, same old. Carry on.

I dunno, I recently saw this director's first movie, The Lives of Others, about life under the Stasi in 1980's East Germany. It was good enough that I'd go see this on that basis alone, despite the fact it has Jolie in it.

Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck. Seriously... I know he's real, and has some critical acclaim, but the name just sounds like something I'd make up to avoid having my real name attached to a terrible movie.

Oh, you mean "Bones" as in Skinny "Need Me Some Sammiches" Jolie.

I was thinkin' I was gonna see Emily D. in there.

"still doesn’t answer the question of why you’d hire the uber-cool Depp to play a bumbling tourist"

maybe the character is just playing "bumbling" and is really a slick spy...?
i don't know. is it based on a book or something? do people already know the "twist"?

Not to mention this article is listed as a "TV review". Get your mind right, boy.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who thought this was about Emily Deschanel. Now I'm kind of disappointed.

Uhh, why is this filed under TV review?

I went to look for something under that section and found this trailer there.

Seriously I start to suspend that Depps character is the one they think he is. And just pretends to be goofy.

Supposedly this is a matchup of the sexiest man and sexiest woman alive, and yet there is ZERO chemistry. JD has WAY more rapport with Helena Bonham Carter. That man can create chemistry with anyone but I think this pairing with Jolie is not a good idea. He seems turned off by her, and I don't blame him.
