Taiwan Needs Brains: Zombie 108 Trailer

Ah, foreign films. It’s the catch phrase that means a movie must be high cinema, or at least sufficiently tedious and self-serious. But saying “ah, I had a bottle of wine and watched a foreign film” never means that you watched a movie from Asia or India. And it also never means that you watched a comedy, because laughing is proletarian. No, “foreign film” is just a convenient label for “a very serious and important movie from Europe.” Well, I think that’s just plain racist, because as the trailer for Zombie 108 demonstrates, a foreign film from Taiwan can be very serious and important as well.

Similar to the Battleship Yamamoto trailers which showed that spaceships fighting was truly a universal language, this trailer demonstrates that zombies are the same. Do I have any idea what is happening in this trailer? Zombies. It’s really that universal.

Oh, also, the trailer has been labelled NSFW on account of there being VISIBLE NIPPLES for a few seconds in the middle. Sure it’s two straight minutes of gore and zombies, but it’s the nipples that really would fry your boss’s synapses. Bosses hate nipples because they had their own ritualistically removed during their initiation into management.

But seriously, I have no idea what’s going on with that nipple scene. There’s an octopus involved.

Zombies. Strippers. Gangs. Random yelling. Gun fights. Chair bludgeoning. Tentacle sex.

When is soon? I gotta get all cultured and shit.

Zombies, nipples, an octopus and woman beating---and yet the most disturbing part for me was knowing that the little girl in the beginning of the trailer was two seconds away from becoming zombie kibble.

I'm out.

Hello Steven,
I am afraid that "Battleship Yamamoto" doesnot exist. Do you, by any chance, refer to "Space Battleship Yamato"
Please let me know!
