Will Ferrell's Spanish language Telenovela Casa de mi Padre Trailer: I Don't Get It, But Hey! There's Ron Swanson
Many, many months ago, we passed on word that Will Ferrell would be starring in a Spanish-language, one that would require Ferrell himself to speak only Spanish. I got the feeling it was another one of those ethereal projects — something a big star thinks is a good idea in theory, but would probably make excuses like “scheduling conflicts” and “hair appointments” to avoid actually going through with it. But, quietly, the film — which also stars Diego Luna and Gael Garcia Bernal — was made, and then without a lot of pre-publicity publicity, the trailer simply arrived.
It looks interesting? Like an amusing “SNL” skit that will probably cease to be amusing six minutes into the film. Or maybe, maybe it will be hilarious. Or perhaps, it really is a film targeted primarily at Spanish-speaking audiences.
I honestly do not know what to make of it. But, Ron Swanson is in it, so maybe it’s worth a go.
