Wild Horses Couldn't Drag Me Away: First Clip Of HBO's "Luck"
I always have mixed feelings about horse racing, but there's no denying that there's some compelling drama to be mined out of the sport/industry. And maybe I'm on an HBO kick after being so thoroughly thrilled by "Game Of Thrones," but the below clip for the upcoming series, "Luck," has me pretty intrigued. Give it a go:
Now, with all of that said, you could throw the names involved at me -- Michael Mann, Dustin Hoffman, Joan Allen, Nick Nolte, Kerry Condon, and Kevin Dunn -- and tell me it's a show about a pottery class, and I'd still be sold on it. It's just too interesting a combination of talent to ignore, regardless of the subject matter. Of course, to sweeten the pot, the show is written and co-produced by David Milch, who served as a writer for "NYPD Blue" and "Deadwood." That's a hell of a combo.
