One Ryan Reynolds. One cell phone. One cigarette lighter. One coffin. Buried underground. Suffocation is imminent. Cell reception miraculously works.

Welcome to Black Hell.

Thank Godtopus almighty! A teaser that doesn't use 500 jump edits in 120 seconds. Thankyouthankyouthankyou.

I'll see this just in gratitude that it doesn't cause seizures.

Welcome to Black Hell

Wait, did Reagan come back? What?

This movie screams of "great material, would be much better with a more skilled actor". (See JCVD, Magnolia, Punch Drunk Love, etc, etc.)

Holy fucking shit.

Posted by: DontStopNow at May 2, 2010 5:54 PM

This looks so intense it actually looks funny.

Brilliant. A proper trailer for the first time since..... I don't know when. I just hope that the briliant trailer that followed a brilliant poster (perfectly twinned) is not followed up by another trailer that fucks the whole lot up!
We don't need another trailer!!!!

Well maybe not JCVD, bad example.

Anyone know if they going limited release with this?

Posted by: D-Day at May 2, 2010 6:23 PM

Why wouldn't he have phone coverage? I don't understand...

Oh right, he's buried in America.

Posted by: DarthBrooks at May 2, 2010 6:55 PM

Not watching this.

Still freaked out by a (1980's?) Twilight Zone about a female convict who bribes the guy who buries the corpses, to bury her with the next dead inmate and then dig her up.

Inmate dies, and when she finally lights a match to see who she's buried with? The gravedigger! Commence screaming (by mswas).

how can his cellphone work?! whereas my cellphone doesn't work in my home!!

Posted by: caro at May 2, 2010 9:16 PM

mayb coz he's buried right under a cell tower?

Posted by: haplo at May 2, 2010 10:12 PM

mswas, even though I knew exactly what you were goig to say, I still screamed like a little girl when I read it.

Wasn't there a movie where some dude gets buried alive by his wife and her lover, but he comes back and gets revenge? That movie was fucking awesome. If memory serves (the weed has me addled) he locks them in a basement while he's upstairs in the house building something. When he finally lets them out, they're trapped in a labyrinth which turns out to lead them right into a coffin.

Which he buries.

Y'know, I'm going to assume that this movie is the spiritual sequel and that Ryan Reynold's character is a philanderer and deserves to die a slow, horrible death.

Posted by: superasente at May 3, 2010 12:27 AM

superasente, it was totally some USA movie from 2000-2002 or somewheres in there. I remember it! And you are spot on with the plot, that is exactly how it happens. Also, if my memory serves, they made a 2nd one where they just switched the sexes. So instead of a husband doing the screwing over, it was the wife...or something?

I like this trailer btw. Creeps me the hell out.

There are only a select few situations in which I am claustrophobic, and now I have to add watching this trailer to that list.

*wigglywiggle*

Posted by: the_wakeful at May 3, 2010 3:37 AM

Why doesn't he stop being such a little bitch and just punch his way out like The Bride?

Posted by: TSF at May 3, 2010 6:04 AM

Well maybe not JCVD, bad example.

I was about to berate and disparage you. Good thing I saw this first. That's a damn good movie and a good acting job, even if he is playing himself.

Yeah I wrote that while I was/am busting out a fever comma.

And no, the cure ain't more cowbell.

Posted by: D-Day at May 3, 2010 8:28 AM

It looks suitably tense, but I can't help but be reminded of that CSI episode. And also The Vanishing. I think things where people are buried alive really stick in my mind.

Uma didn't have a cell phone. Buck up Ryan and use some Kung Fu!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't the police be able to locate him by the "ping" of his cell phone?

Posted by: Wilz at May 4, 2010 3:57 AM

Good God, mswas, I've never seen that ep and I seriously freakin' screamed when I read your comment. I'm still all creeped out right now.

That trailer was just perfect. It gave me chills. Chills, I say!!

I can't wait to have nightmares for weeks after watching this film.
