"Second chances are a powerful thing."

CBS has posted some promotional clips for its four new fall shows. The clips are a mix of trailer and interview-hype and, well, let’s just say that I’m not excited for the network’s new shows.

Accidentally on Purpose. If anyone watches more than one episode of this show this fall, it’ll most definitely be accidentally. Hey-yoooooo!

The Good Wife. Wasn’t excited about this show before seeing this clip. Less excited about it after the fact.

I made it two-thirds of the way through. Tried to get through the whole thing. Just couldn’t do it man. And also, god damn it, when can I get Chris Noth in a show I can actually get behind? I don’t think that’s too much to ask for.

Three Rivers. Ok, I don’t care if you like Alex O’Loughlin. This show looks ter-ri-ble. Seriously, I think I need an ass transplant, because this clip makes me feel hemorrhoidal.

Ooooh, I get it. The title’s clever, yo. Three Rivers, as in Pittsburgh. And three, as in, the story’s told from three perspectives. Lovely.

NCIS: Los Angeles. I don’t watch the original “NCIS.” Haven’t seen a second of it. So I can’t speak to this show as far as it being a spinoff. But looking at it on its own, from his clip, it looks a perfectly passable show for it is, that is, a competent procedural. Doesn’t mean I’ll be adding it to my rotation, but looks like it’ll be worth a shot if these type of procedurals are your thing (plus, LL tells us the cast is hot, so it’s got that going for it).

Boo! I saw the script for the Accidentally on Purpose pilot and liked it lot. It read really well - funny and goofy, the lead character was like a toned down Liz Lemon. Then I heard Jenna Elfman was cast...figured I'd still give it a watch even though it would probably suck. But then I saw this trailer, in which the show looks like an ass sandwich. Not worth the TiVo space. Boo!

Haha! Jenna Elfman is an older woman! She meets a younger guy! And they have sex! Uh-oh, now it looks like a baby is on the way!

What other wacky hijinks will ensue this season*? Guess you'll have to tune in to find out! Wacky!

*Tune in soon, as the show will be cancelled after one episode.

I kept reading "fall shows" as "fail shows", and it kept making perfect sense.

NCIS Los Angeles I have slight hopes for, since NCIS is the only procedural show with not one, not two, but three* decent female characters on it, none of whom wear cleavage-baring outfits.

*Okay, they killed the Director last season, but even though she had breast cancer, instead of having her waste away in a hospital room all angsty-like, she went out in a gunfight, taking out several of the bad guys with her before she went down. Awesome.

O'Loughlin's fans will be all over his new show, praising it and their star's performance, even if the show isn't any good.

From what I've seen of the clips thus far, it doesn't look very good at all.
